Role overview

We are looking for careful and reliable people to join the housekeeping team as Room Attendants in Sydney, New South Wales, Australia. This role is focused on keeping guest rooms clean, well presented, and comfortable so visitors enjoy a high-quality stay.

Key responsibilities

  • Get guest rooms ready for arrivals by restocking amenities, linens, and supplies, and by arranging furniture and room décor according to hotel standards.
  • Clean and disinfect bedrooms, bathrooms, and shared spaces thoroughly while following hygiene procedures; replace towels, linens, and toiletries when required.
  • Dust and polish furniture, fixtures, and other surfaces; vacuum carpets and rugs, mop floors, and clean windows to maintain a spotless appearance.
  • Promptly report repair needs, damage, or missing items in guest rooms to the relevant team so issues can be resolved quickly.
  • Handle lost-and-found items according to set procedures, record them properly, and store them securely until they are claimed or returned to the right department.
  • Communicate with guests in a polite and professional manner, responding quickly and helpfully to questions, requests, and feedback.
  • Work closely with housekeeping colleagues and other departments to support smooth operations and excellent service.
  • Follow all hotel rules, cleaning standards, and safety requirements to help maintain strong hygiene and guest satisfaction.

Requirements

  • Experience as a room attendant or in a similar housekeeping position is preferred, though not essential.
  • A strong eye for detail and a careful approach to cleaning and organizing are important.
  • Ability to stand for long periods, bend, and lift items as part of the job.
  • Good time management skills and the ability to handle priorities efficiently.
  • Strong communication and people skills, with a guest-focused mindset.
  • Willingness to work different shifts, including weekends and public holidays, when needed.
