Job description
About the Role
Peppers Beacon sits just a short five-minute stroll from central Queenstown, New Zealand’s well-known adventure hub. The property overlooks Lake Wakatipu and is framed by mountain scenery, and it offers a mix of hotel-style rooms and spacious multi-level apartments, along with a breakfast room for guests to begin the day.
The Queenstown area offers plenty to do in your free time, from snow sports and bungy jumping to vineyard visits and scenic sightseeing. The setting combines a historic mining-town feel with a wide choice of leisure activities.
Role Purpose
As a Room Attendant, you will be an important part of the Housekeeping team, helping create an exceptional guest experience through spotless rooms, strong attention to detail, and reliable support to both guests and colleagues. Your work helps ensure visitors leave with positive memories of warm hospitality.
Key Duties
- Clean guest rooms thoroughly, including making beds, refreshing linens, sanitising bathrooms, and wiping all surfaces to present a polished first impression.
- Follow the property’s housekeeping standards and procedures consistently to maintain high-quality results.
- Keep housekeeping trolleys stocked, tidy, and ready for use.
- Handle cleaning products carefully and follow all safety practices to maintain a secure workplace.
- Protect guest privacy and security at all times.
- Escalate maintenance concerns quickly so issues can be resolved without delay.
Skills and Experience
The role suits someone who communicates in a friendly and welcoming way, works efficiently, manages time well, and takes pride in delivering detailed work. It is also a physical position, and movement between rooms may involve internal and external stairs and open walkways. Comfort working with people from varied backgrounds is important, as is availability for different shifts, including weekends and public holidays. Reliable transport is also required.
Candidate Profile
Previous experience in cleaning or room attendant work is an advantage, though not essential.
