Job description
About Binance
Binance is a major global blockchain platform and the operator of one of the world’s largest cryptocurrency exchanges by trading volume and registered users. The company serves more than 300 million people across over 100 countries, with a focus on security, transparency of user funds, fast trading infrastructure, strong liquidity, and a broad suite of digital-asset products. Its ecosystem includes trading, finance, education, research, payments, institutional offerings, Web3 products, and more, all aimed at expanding access to finance and supporting financial freedom worldwide.
About the Role
Binance’s Risk team is seeking a seasoned Risk Operations Agent to help apply effective risk controls for the platform and its users. The role involves reviewing fraud-related alerts, email and SMS alerts, and service requests to assess whether recent account activity is suspicious or fraudulent. Investigations may require speaking with customers, checking account behavior, reviewing risk ratings, matching phone numbers, searching IP information, and using other online sources.
The position also focuses on helping customers understand account processes and security practices, while supporting loss prevention for both the company and its users. You will review documents, analyze data, and decide in a timely manner whether transactions or activities are authentic. Where needed, you will contact customers for more information and communicate decisions clearly. The ideal candidate is well-organized, efficient, analytical, adaptable, and comfortable working closely with a collaborative team.
Key Responsibilities
- Assess assigned account queues, determine whether accounts and account holders are legitimate, evaluate the related risk, and make suitable restriction or closure decisions for each case, accounting for roughly 60% of the workload.
- Reach out to account holders to confirm activity, look into concerns, and help reduce potential losses, representing about 10% of the role.
- Track active cases and reports to spot new trends, recurring patterns, and emerging risks, and share useful findings with management, around 10% of the work.
- Watch account activity for unusual or suspicious behavior and act quickly to prevent fraudulent or unauthorized transactions, making up approximately 20% of the responsibilities.
Experience and Requirements
- At least 3 to 5 years of experience in environments that are high-risk, process-led, or governed by strict rules, ideally in financial services, fraud prevention, risk, or compliance.
- Strong investigative and analytical capability, with the ability to detect patterns, anomalies, and potential risk signals in transactions and account activity.
- Hands-on experience with KYC/KYB reviews, enhanced due diligence, and transaction investigations.
- Clear written communication skills, with the ability to prepare concise, well-reasoned case notes and decision summaries.
- Judgment to make risk-based decisions in complex or unclear situations with limited oversight.
- Consistent accuracy, strong attention to detail, and the ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-moving environment.
- Working understanding of AML rules, financial crime controls, and transaction monitoring practices.
- Willingness to provide weekend coverage as part of a 7-day team schedule.
