Role Summary
The Retail Sales Supervisor is responsible for helping the store deliver strong commercial results while maintaining excellent service, operational discipline, and brand presentation. The role combines sales leadership, team support, inventory control, loss prevention, and store operations.
Key Responsibilities
- Drive the store to meet or surpass sales, KPI, and profitability targets through effective short- and long-term planning, expense management, and strong selling and service execution.
- Ensure every customer receives a consistently high level of service in line with PUMA’s cornerstones and service standards.
- Support recruitment, onboarding, coaching, development, and succession planning for high-performing, target-focused associates.
- Oversee payroll discipline and service-based scheduling to keep the location profitable while preserving service quality.
- Make sure all required training programs, both local and global, are running effectively and delivering results in the store.
- Review customer profiles, purchase patterns, and competitor activity to identify opportunities and support business growth.
- Lead education, training, and awareness efforts related to loss prevention.
- Maintain compliance with loss prevention standards within the store.
- Help achieve inventory and shrinkage objectives and supervise physical stock counts.
- Take ownership of processing incoming and outgoing merchandise accurately and on time.
- Share merchandise opportunities and concerns with the Store Manager.
- Plan, coordinate, and execute marketing activities and store events within budget and in line with company policies and procedures.
- Build and sustain effective communication with local PR and marketing contacts.
- Take part in new store launches and/or store closures, including travel when needed.
- Attend offsite training sessions and role-related meetings as required by the Store Manager, with travel if necessary.
- Ensure visual directives are implemented and that the store presentation consistently meets or exceeds PUMA standards.
- Monitor the physical condition of the store, raise maintenance needs promptly, and help keep the store in proper working order.
- Follow all operational core competencies and key accountabilities required for the role.
- Help maintain a safe and compliant workplace for all store associates.
- Be prepared to work non-traditional schedules, including weekends, evenings, holidays, and overtime when required.
Candidate Profile
The ideal candidate has 1 to 2 years of management experience in a customer-focused retail environment, preferably in apparel or footwear, with a strong record of delivering results. The person should have a proven ability to exceed sales goals while managing payroll targets, along with experience identifying, hiring, training, developing, and retaining strong associates and teams. Success in this role also requires sound judgment, the ability to work through complex situations, clear communication skills, and confidence presenting to larger groups.
