Role Summary

This full-time, on-site position is based in Perth, Western Australia, and involves residential painting across interior and exterior spaces. The role includes preparing surfaces through cleaning, sanding, patching, and priming, then applying coatings with brushes, rollers, and spray tools to deliver smooth and consistent results. You will work from job instructions and basic plans, choose suitable materials, mix colours to match requirements, and support site setup, pack-down, tool care, and coordination with supervisors and teammates to keep work on schedule.

Core Duties

• Prepare interior and exterior surfaces by cleaning, sanding, filling, patching, and priming as needed.
• Apply paint and coatings using brushes, rollers, and spray equipment to achieve an even, high-quality finish.
• Follow job instructions, specifications, and simple drawings to understand the scope and required finish.
• Select the correct materials and mix paints to match the needed colour.
• Set up work areas safely, protect furniture and fixtures, and pack down the site after completion.
• Look after tools and equipment so they remain clean, functional, and ready for use.
• Work with supervisors and other team members to complete projects on time.

Qualifications and Experience

• Strong practical ability in painting and applying finishes on residential interior and exterior surfaces.
• Hands-on experience with spray painting, including preparation, setup, and producing uniform coverage.
• Capability to read basic architectural drawings or job specifications.
• Basic carpentry skills for minor repairs, patching, and surface preparation before painting.
• Working knowledge of workplace health and safety practices, especially when using ladders, scaffolding, and PPE.
• Prior experience in residential or commercial painting is preferred.
• Good attention to detail, time management, and the ability to work independently or in a team.
• Reliable transport for travel to job sites in and around Perth.
• A trade qualification, apprenticeship, or equivalent practical experience is highly regarded.

Work Environment

This position is entirely site-based and involves moving between residential projects in Perth and nearby areas. The work requires careful protection of client property, safe work practices, and consistent communication with the wider team.
