Overview

This role is for a Residential Advisor who helps maintain a secure, orderly, and encouraging dormitory setting for Job Corps trainees. The position is centered on supervision, structure, and positive guidance, with a strong emphasis on supporting young people as they work toward their goals. Compensation and Benefits

This is a Service Contract Act (SCA) position with an hourly pay rate of $17.20. The benefits package includes low-cost medical, dental, and vision coverage, nine vacation days in the first year, at least 11 paid holidays, paid sick leave, a retirement savings plan with employer matching up to 5%, workers’ compensation, AD&D insurance, and PSLF eligibility.

Schedule

The shift options are 3:00 pm to 12:00 am or 11:30 pm to 8:30 am.

What You Will Do

You will oversee dormitory life for students aged 16 to 24, helping ensure safety, structure, and compliance with center rules. The role involves consistent supervision, accountability, behavior guidance, and documentation of student activity and incidents during the shift.

Key Duties

  • Maintain a safe, supportive, and predictable residential environment for Job Corps trainees.
  • Monitor daily student activities and reinforce performance goals and expectations.
  • Carry out dormitory operations in line with center policies and procedures.
  • Provide day-to-day supervision to students ages 16 to 24 so that discipline and order are upheld.
  • Ensure dormitories remain supervised around the clock and that residents follow all rules and procedures.
  • Keep full accountability for residents and record notable events in the logbook during the shift.
  • Support students as they transition into center life through supervision, behavior support, and mentoring.
  • Record student information and updates in accordance with PRH requirements.

Requirements

  • A high school diploma or equivalent is required.
  • Two years of experience in a related area such as counseling, education, social work, rehabilitation, or vocational guidance is preferred.
  • A valid driver’s license with an acceptable driving record is preferred.
  • Candidates must successfully complete a drug screening in line with the employer’s substance abuse and drug-free workplace policy.
  • Employment depends on passing a nationwide criminal background check.
