Resident Engineer / Project Manager

Role Summary

This position is responsible for leading consultancy supervision efforts on assigned projects and ensuring they are delivered safely, on schedule, within budget, and to the expected quality level.

Key Responsibilities

• Monitor and manage the overall performance of consultancy supervision activities across the allocated projects.
• Keep project delivery aligned with agreed timelines, budgets, and quality benchmarks.
• Guide project planning, scheduling, and implementation by using tools such as MS Project or Primavera.
• Hold regular progress review meetings with engineers, contractors, and clients to keep all parties aligned on objectives.
• Oversee document management and routine administrative coordination.
• Track risks and open issues, then coordinate actions to close them out.
• Serve as the main point of contact for external stakeholders such as end-users, asset owners, contractors, consultants, utility companies, and government bodies.
• Support the assessment of contractor variation requests, claims, and contract-related matters.
• Lead key discussions and negotiations to resolve project issues effectively.

Qualifications and Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering or Structural Engineering.
• Minimum 15 years of experience in project supervision and execution.
• At least 10 years of experience working as a Resident Engineer or Project Manager.
• Experience overseeing at least two construction projects in the UAE.
• Strong working knowledge of MS Project or Primavera.
• PMP and PQP certifications are considered an added advantage.
• Demonstrated leadership, sound judgment, and critical thinking abilities.
• Excellent written and verbal English communication skills.
• In-depth knowledge of Abu Dhabi regulations, authority approvals, and local construction standards is essential.
• Background in steel projects and industrial projects is highly preferred.
• Applicants must already be based in the UAE.
