About the Role
This position is for a research scientist who will support the training of AI models by working through advanced physics-focused tasks and reviewing model output.
Field and Academic Background
The ideal candidate should have expert-level knowledge of physics. A Master's or PhD that is current, in progress, or completed is preferred, though it is not mandatory. Relevant backgrounds may also include astrophysics, biophysics, electrical engineering, nuclear engineering, chemical engineering, or mathematics.
What the Contract Offers
- You can select the projects you want to take on and decide when to work.
- You can work independently on your own computer from home.
- Compensation is hourly, beginning at $40+ USD per hour, and some projects may include bonus pay.
Key Responsibilities
- Present AI chatbots with challenging physics questions and assess their responses.
- Review AI-generated work for accuracy and overall quality.
Required Qualifications
- English fluency at a native or bilingual level.
- A careful, detail-focused working style.
- Strong knowledge of classical mechanics, electromagnetism, thermodynamics, and introductory quantum theory.
- A Master's and/or PhD that is current, underway, or completed is preferred, but not compulsory.
Additional Information
Payment is processed through PayPal, which will also manage any currency conversion from USD. No payment or fee will ever be requested from applicants. Only candidates located in New Zealand will be considered. This role is offered as an independent contractor arrangement.
