Job description
Overview
The School of Physical and Mathematical Sciences offers a wide-ranging environment for mathematical research across both pure and applied areas. A research fellow position is available within Dr. Milind Hegde’s group, with the work centered mainly on stochastic growth models and the Kardar–Parisi–Zhang (KPZ) universality class. Related topics in probability are also welcome areas of interest.
Role Details
This appointment can run for up to 3 years. There are no formal teaching duties attached to the role, although candidates who want light teaching experience for career growth may have opportunities to do so. Adequate funding is available for academic travel.
Responsibilities
- Carry out research in KPZ and related probability topics.
- Help, when needed, with arranging research activities and events related to probability theory and KPZ.
Requirements
- A PhD in probability theory or a closely allied discipline.
- Demonstrated strength in research output and scholarship.
- Experience in KPZ, interacting particle systems, integrable probability, first- or last-passage percolation, polymer models, or random matrix theory is an advantage, though not mandatory.
Additional Information
The hiring institution is NTU. Only applicants who are shortlisted will receive further communication.
