Job description
About SWTCH
SWTCH develops EV charging solutions for multifamily and commercial buildings across North America. Founded in 2016, the company combines entrepreneurship, energy expertise, and technology to expand access to electric mobility. Its technology is already installed in tens of thousands of sites, including many low- to moderate-income housing communities, with the goal of making clean transportation more widely available. As the company grows across Canada and the United States, it is looking for purpose-driven professionals to support its expansion.
Role overview
SWTCH is hiring a Renewable Energy Deployment Coordinator who is highly organized and comfortable working with technical systems. This position acts as the link between the product team and field installation, helping ensure EV charging and energy management equipment are deployed correctly, safely, and in line with code and technical requirements.
What you'll do
- Oversee the full deployment process for EV charging stations and energy management hardware, including scheduling, coordination of logistics, and communication with internal teams, vendors, and clients.
- Support installers and contractors with guidance on hardware setup, electrical connections, and system configuration.
- Set up and resolve connectivity issues for smart chargers and IoT devices so they can reliably connect to the SWTCH platform.
- Keep detailed and current records for each site, such as as-built drawings, configuration notes, and project schedules.
- Perform remote or on-site checks and testing to confirm installations meet SWTCH quality expectations and technical standards before operations take over.
Requirements
- Strong practical knowledge of electrical safety rules and codes such as NEC or CEC, or hands-on experience as a licensed electrician or electrician apprentice.
- Working knowledge of networking concepts such as TCP/IP, Wi-Fi, cellular, and Ethernet, along with experience configuring and troubleshooting IoT devices in remote deployment settings.
- At least 3 years of experience in project coordination, field service, technical support, or deployment work in cleantech, electrical, or telecommunications environments.
- Excellent written and spoken communication skills, with the ability to explain technical details to non-technical audiences.
- Proven ability to juggle several projects at once, stay organized, meet deadlines, and prioritize effectively.
- A technical diploma or degree in a relevant area such as Electrical Engineering Technology or Information Technology, or equivalent practical experience.
Benefits
- Join a mission-led team working at the center of the clean energy transition, with room to grow, innovate, and contribute to meaningful change.
- Opportunity to have a strong business influence and help shape the company’s culture and values.
- Work for a company focused on reducing carbon emissions and building a more sustainable future.
- The company values diverse backgrounds, varied experience paths, and encourages interested candidates to apply even if their profile is not traditional.
Additional information
All candidate screenings are completed directly with a hiring manager and a member of the people and culture team, either in person or over Google Meet. Employment offers are not issued through text messages, and the company does not make offers without meeting candidates first. If someone requests personal information by text or before a proper interview, it should be treated as suspicious and ignored.
