Role overview
HSBC’s Corporate & Institutional Banking team for International Mid-Market in Qatar is hiring a Relationship Manager at GCB5 level. The position focuses on managing, expanding, and deepening a portfolio of internationally oriented corporate clients with revenues ranging from $100 million to more than $2 billion. The role is centred on building trusted advisory relationships with clients that have cross-border growth ambitions and linking them to HSBC’s global network and corporate banking offerings.
What you will do
- Grow current client relationships and develop new long-term partnerships that support HSBC’s international business strategy.
- Act as a consultative advisor, offering practical insight and guidance to help clients perform effectively in local and overseas markets.
- Identify and pursue promising prospects in the target market in a proactive way.
- Work closely with product experts and colleagues across HSBC’s international network to shape suitable solutions and improve wallet share.
- Take ownership of the client journey and help junior team members maintain high service standards.
- Monitor and manage credit, operational, regulatory, and financial crime exposures across the portfolio.
- Follow internal controls, policies, and all applicable external regulations without exception.
What you need to succeed
- A bachelor’s degree in a relevant subject.
- Background in corporate banking with experience handling mid-market or large corporate client relationships.
- Ability to align client needs with banking solutions such as treasury and cash management, trade finance, foreign exchange, and lending or financing products.
- Sound commercial judgment and awareness of market, economic, and regulatory developments.
- Strong capability in communication, stakeholder engagement, and influencing others.
- Experience in commercial lending and assessing associated risks.
- A customer-focused mindset, a constructive attitude, and a strong drive to achieve results.
