Job description
Role Overview
This position is responsible for managing a designated portfolio within corporate banking while also expanding business through new client relationships. The goal is to support financial targets by deepening existing accounts and originating fresh opportunities.
Core Responsibilities
- Oversee and periodically review the assigned corporate portfolio, and recommend credit solutions that align with the relationship strategy, expected returns, and the bank’s risk appetite.
- Source and engage new prospects and target segments to drive growth, including syndication and structured finance opportunities.
- Build deeper relationships across client groups and ownership structures, and promote cross-selling of products and services from other business lines.
- Handle external portfolio controls such as regular client interactions, call reports, documentation follow-ups, operational issue resolution, facility and account usage checks, payment regularisation, field visits, and market intelligence gathering.
- Manage internal follow-ups across credit review, documentation, approval, and operational teams, and recommend policy adjustments when business conditions require it.
- Draft and structure term sheets, pre-screen memoranda, financial models, risk-rating tools, and economic profitability reports.
- Collect and compile all information needed for new credit submissions, and work with the credit product group on proposals, financial spreads, and modelling.
- Maintain strong relationships with key decision-makers in the portfolio and convert those connections into business opportunities aligned with strategy.
- Position the bank as an active participant in emerging debt and capital markets, and help strengthen its presence in treasury and capital market activities.
- Work with relevant bank teams to deliver structured solutions efficiently and on time.
- Stay current on market developments, regulatory changes, competition, and industry trends.
