About the Role
The Regional Safety Manager is instrumental in developing, implementing, and refining the company's safety program, working closely with personnel and leadership. This role involves partnering with operational teams to ensure adherence to environmental, health, and safety (EHS) regulations and to cultivate a robust safety culture across designated facilities.
This is a full-time, onsite position. While the preferred location is Dallas Love Field (DAL), highly qualified candidates may be considered for other locations including Teterboro, NJ (TEB), Las Vegas, NV (LAS), West Palm Beach, FL (PBI), Washington, DC (IAD), Van Nuys, CA (VNY), Chicago, IL (MDW), or Seattle, WA (BFI).
Key Responsibilities
- Collaborate with operational leaders to deploy EHS programs at assigned sites.
- Ensure strict compliance with all relevant EHS laws, regulations, and company policies.
- Oversee safety reporting procedures and facilitate the use of the Vocus reporting system.
- Contribute to the enhancement and implementation of West Star Aviation’s Safety 24/7 Safety Management System (SMS).
- Produce, revise, and evaluate technical documents for various audiences.
- Chair monthly Safety Action Team (SAT) meetings at assigned locations.
- Participate in and/or lead safety investigations.
- Deliver safety training sessions and maintain comprehensive training records.
- Promote a strong safety culture through data collection, analysis, and information dissemination.
- Execute risk assessments and job hazard analyses.
- Stay current with industry advancements, including regulatory changes, new technologies, and best practices.
- Coordinate with the Quality department on safety-related projects.
- Undertake additional responsibilities as assigned.
Education and Experience Requirements
- A bachelor’s degree or an equivalent combination of education and experience in aviation operations and/or safety management is required.
- A minimum of 4 years of relevant experience, ideally within aviation safety, maintenance, or operations.
- Proficiency with Safety Management Systems (SMS) and a solid understanding of FAA regulations and guidance are highly desirable.
- Familiarity with OSHA and EPA regulations is mandatory.

Supervision and Working Conditions
- Works under the general guidance of the Chief Safety and Quality Officer, with a significant degree of autonomy.
- May collaborate with and provide support to multiple departments and teams.
- Work environment includes both office settings and hangar facilities.
- Potential for occasional exposure to varied temperatures and operational conditions.
- Requires up to 50% travel, primarily self-directed based on business requirements.
Equipment and Tools
- Standard office equipment, including computers and mobile devices (Apple).
- Proficiency with software such as Microsoft Office Suite (Outlook, Word, Excel) and internal reporting systems.
Compensation and Benefits
The salary range for this position is typically between $75,000 and $100,000 annually. The final compensation will be determined by factors such as location, experience, and performance. This salary is part of a comprehensive total compensation package that includes a semi-annual discretionary bonus, medical, dental, vision, life insurance, disability benefits, 401(k) with employer match, paid holidays, and vacation time.
