Role overview
Urban Retail Pvt. Ltd. is seeking a Regional Operations Manager to oversee operations across the North, South, East, or West region. This position is part of the Operations & Supply Chain function and is based in New Delhi, Delhi, India, with regional coverage across Bangalore, Gurgaon, Mumbai, and Kolkata.

Urban Retail Pvt. Ltd., established in 2015, is a major ecommerce supply chain, fulfilment, and distribution business in India. The company enables brands to expand across ecommerce, quick commerce, marketplace, B2B, D2C, and fulfilment channels through a widespread network of warehouses and operational hubs. It currently operates in 13 cities, has 16 active operational nodes, serves more than 60 cities, manages over 2,00,000 sq. ft. of warehousing space, and works with brands across FMCG, beauty, personal care, food, wellness, industrial, and lifestyle segments.
The organisation works with brands including Cetaphil, Sebamed, Streax, Veeba, Everest, Glenmark, Coca-Cola, Evocus, Hikoki, Ansell, Twiddles, and others. The company is now looking for experienced operations leaders who can take ownership of regional performance and support its next stage of growth.
Role objective
The Regional Operations Manager will be accountable for improving operational performance across all facilities in the assigned region. The role focuses on inventory precision, manpower efficiency, warehouse productivity, customer service, and cost reduction. It calls for a practical, execution-oriented leader who can establish systems, refine processes, and maintain strong operating discipline at scale.
Key responsibilities
- Take ownership of day-to-day operational results across the region’s warehouses and fulfilment centres.
- Make sure SOPs, customer SLAs, and internal control checks are consistently followed.
- Maintain operational consistency across all regional locations.
- Track daily fill rates, dispatch performance, and turnaround time targets.
- Protect inventory accuracy across every location in the region.
- Lead cycle counts, stock reconciliation, and inventory control measures.
- Review ageing stock, stock movement, and utilisation levels.
- Enforce FEFO/FIFO practices wherever applicable.
- Guide warehouse managers and city operations teams.
- Improve productivity, workforce utilisation, attendance, discipline, and planning.
- Identify workforce shortages and hiring needs.
- Support recruitment for warehouse managers, supervisors, and operations staff.
- Participate in interviews and final hiring decisions.
- Oversee onboarding, training, and succession planning for key roles.
- Drive initiatives that raise warehouse productivity and cut operational waste.
- Improve space usage and reduce cost per order and cost per case.
- Strengthen resource efficiency without affecting service quality.
- Ensure service commitments are met and operational escalations are resolved quickly.
- Support key account reviews and help maintain customer satisfaction and retention.
- Assist with launches of new warehouses and operational nodes.
- Implement standard processes and help new sites stabilise within the expected timelines.
Performance expectations
- Keep regional fill rates above 90% through timely replenishment, strong inventory availability, and proactive issue resolution.
- Maintain inventory accuracy above 99% through controls, audits, cycle counts, and reconciliation.
- Achieve dispatch adherence above 98% and meet all customer and internal SLA commitments.
- Promote strict operational discipline, compliance, audit readiness, and SOP adherence across the region.
- Improve manpower productivity through planning, training, deployment, and performance management.
- Reduce cost per order, cost per case, and total warehouse operating costs without lowering service quality.
- Increase storage efficiency and inventory density through better slotting, layout planning, and inventory movement.
- Control ageing inventory to reduce working capital blockage through rotation and timely liquidation.
- Deliver strong customer service through clear communication and quick resolution of issues.
- Build capable regional teams through hiring, onboarding, skill development, and succession planning.
- Launch and stabilise new warehouses, fulfilment centres, and operational nodes while maintaining standards.
- Encourage continuous improvement through automation, process enhancement, data-based decisions, and benchmarking.
- Support profitability by improving efficiency, reducing waste, and increasing throughput across the region.
Preferred industry background
Candidates with experience in ecommerce fulfilment, 3PL logistics, supply chain, warehousing, FMCG distribution, quick commerce, or contract logistics will be preferred. Prior experience with organisations such as Amazon, Flipkart, Delhivery, Xpressbees, Ecom Express, DHL, Blue Dart, Zepto, Blinkit, Swiggy Instamart, BigBasket, Shadowfax, Shiprocket, or similar companies is especially valued.
Qualifications and fit
The ideal candidate should hold a graduate degree in any discipline. An MBA in Operations or Supply Chain is preferred. The role requires 8 to 15 years of operations experience, mandatory multi-site warehouse management exposure, strong analytical ability, and proven leadership skills. The candidate must also be willing to travel extensively within the assigned region.
