Job description

About the Company

Laminex New Zealand sits within Fletcher Building’s respected portfolio and is known for well-established brands such as Formica, Laminex, and Caesarstone. With operations across New Zealand, the business supplies high-quality solutions for both residential and commercial interior projects. The team is focused on innovation, excellent service, and delivering strong value to customers.

About the Role

This is a key leadership position overseeing the Central Region. You will guide a capable team and ensure smooth operations across five North Island locations. The role links sales, operations, and supply chain functions by bringing people, processes, and data together to improve performance, strengthen customer experience, and support business growth. It is a highly collaborative role with close involvement in sales and operations to simplify processes, manage costs, and consistently meet or exceed customer expectations while developing your team for long-term success.

The position can be based in Auckland or at any of the five regional branches: Tauranga, Hamilton, Napier, Palmerston North, or Wellington.

Key Responsibilities

  • Oversee and support branch operations across multiple sites, including transport, warehousing, and logistics.
  • Work with sales teams to ensure operational capacity matches customer requirements and future growth.
  • Improve customer service by making sure supply chain and branch activities run reliably, efficiently, and safely.
  • Strengthen network performance by enhancing delivery efficiency, stock movement, and inventory control to maintain product availability, protect working capital, and keep operating costs in check.
  • Manage budgets, cost control, and financial performance, including OPEX and CAPEX outcomes.
  • Use Power BI and ERP data to assess performance and turn findings into practical actions that improve results.
  • Develop team capability by coaching and mentoring branch operational staff.
  • Keep health and safety at the centre of all operational activity.
  • Deliver strong results against key measures, including DIFOT.

What You’ll Need

  • At least 8–10+ years of leadership experience in multi-site operations within manufacturing, distribution, or supply chain settings, excluding retail.
  • A practical, people-focused leadership style with experience leading teams in sales, logistics, supply chain, or operations.
  • Excellent communication and stakeholder influence skills, with a flexible and empathetic coaching approach that builds team capability through mentoring and development.
  • Strong commercial judgement and the ability to understand and influence profit and loss outcomes.
  • Confidence working with performance data through Power BI and ERP platforms to generate useful insights and measurable improvement.
  • An independent, analytical mindset with the confidence to question current ways of working and lead continuous improvement.
  • The ability to work across departments and apply best practice while keeping health and safety as a priority.
  • Willingness to travel regularly between Tauranga, Hamilton, Napier, Palmerston North, and Wellington.
