Job description
About TOMRA
TOMRA develops smart technologies and practical tools that support a more sustainable future. The company focuses on advancing resource responsibility and, in Australia, operates reverse vending machines that collect empty drink containers so they can be recycled again and again. In Queensland and Western Australia, TOMRA works with Containers for Change to offer customers convenient ways to return beverage containers and support the Clean Loop Recycling movement.
TOMRA is an equal opportunity employer and values a diverse workforce and community across gender, age, culture, religion, language, and personal circumstances. The organisation also recognises that a broad mix of perspectives, experience, knowledge, and skills strengthens the business.
Role overview
As a Recycling Centre Attendant, also known as a Looper, you will work as part of a team committed to environmental and community outcomes. This role is central to the Containers for Change scheme and focuses on creating a positive customer experience, keeping the recycling centre tidy and safe, and making sure machines and sorting equipment operate properly. You will also represent the TOMRA brand and serve as one of the public faces of the company in Australia.

- Keep the recycling centre safe, orderly, efficient, and professionally presented for both team members and customers.
- Clean and maintain reverse vending machines and sorting equipment on a regular basis.

- Watch for safety hazards in the centre and report any concerns promptly.
- Take on other tasks as assigned by management.
What you need
- A strong interest in recycling and environmental sustainability.
- Good attention to detail and a genuine commitment to keeping the workplace clean and organised.
- A strong safety mindset and a commitment to helping everyone get home safely.
- Previous experience dealing with customers face to face.
- The physical fitness to carry out manual lifting when required.
