Role overview
Wisely Group is hiring a Recruitment Officer to support hiring activity at the heart of large-scale mining operations in the Bowen Basin. The position is based in Mackay, Queensland, and focuses on filling high-volume trade roles for Tier 1 mine sites.
This opportunity sits across CHPP maintenance, HME and light vehicle workshops, shutdowns, and asset integrity projects, helping deliver the skilled workforce needed for ongoing operations and major maintenance work.

What you will do
In this role, you will assist with recruitment for long-term maintenance contracts as well as major shutdown projects. You will work alongside operations, workforce mobilisation, and site personnel to make sure labour is allocated correctly, safely, and within required timeframes.
- Recruit trade workers such as Heavy Diesel Fitters, Light Vehicle Fitters, Boilermakers, Mechanical Fitters, Servicemen, and Riggers
- Support hiring for HME workshops, LV workshops, CHPP maintenance, and shutdown activities
- Find, assess, and connect with suitable candidates
- Create and publish recruitment ads
- Carry out interviews and reference verification
- Develop and keep active talent pipelines
- Maintain candidate information with accuracy, compliance, and proper documentation
About you
Ideal applicants will have recruitment exposure in mining, industrial, or trade-focused environments, including people who are still building early-career experience. You should be well organised, methodical, and confident working within defined processes while handling a busy workload.
- Experience in maintenance or workshop-based recruitment is beneficial
- Clear and effective communication skills when dealing with site-based teams
- Ability to juggle several priorities in a deadline-focused setting
- Strong attention to detail, with a clear emphasis on safety, compliance, and record keeping
- A team-oriented approach and willingness to support colleagues
