Job description

Role Overview

This position is based in Norwich within Hays’ Business Support and Professional Services temporary recruitment team. The desk covers a wide range of short-term assignments, including HR, procurement, marketing, and other business support vacancies. It offers the chance to work in a busy, candidate-focused environment backed by an established local office, strong client connections, and good regional market coverage.

The role is suitable both for an experienced recruiter and for someone from sales or customer service who wants to move into recruitment. It is a fast-moving temporary desk where relationship building, candidate delivery, and business development all play an important part.

What You Will Do

  • Recruit temporary professionals for HR, procurement, marketing, and broader business support positions.
  • Identify, assess, and place suitable candidates into live vacancies.
  • Develop and maintain strong working relationships with clients and candidates.
  • Handle a high-volume temporary desk with several open roles at once.
  • Create new business opportunities across the Norfolk area.
  • Provide a high standard of service to both clients and candidates.
  • Work toward targets and contribute to the wider team’s results.

Candidate Profile

Applicants should either have recruitment experience or come from a sales/customer service background and be ready to retrain. The right person will be confident in communication, good at building rapport, highly organised, and comfortable balancing multiple priorities. A resilient, motivated, and positive team player will do well in this environment, especially if they thrive in a fast-paced and target-led setting.

Compensation and Benefits

The salary range is £27,937 to £38,423, plus commission. The package also includes training and development, access to modern tools and technology, flexible and hybrid working options, a generous holiday allowance, uncapped commission, performance incentives including global trips, clear progression opportunities, and wellbeing and lifestyle benefits.
