Job description

Position overview

The Little Gym International is hiring a proactive, relationship-driven Recruiting Specialist to own full-cycle hiring for multiple locations. This role focuses on finding, screening, and hiring strong talent while working closely with gym managers to understand staffing needs and shape practical hiring plans.

The right candidate will do well in a fast-moving environment, build trust easily, use good judgment, and care deeply about delivering a strong candidate journey from first outreach through offer acceptance. The position also supports the People team with HR-related projects as business needs change.

This is a remote role, and candidates in the Central Time Zone are strongly preferred because the company’s locations are spread across the U.S., with a concentration on both coasts.

Core recruiting duties

  • Run the entire hiring process for open roles across several gym locations.
  • Work with gym managers to understand staffing gaps, priorities, and local market conditions.
  • Create recruiting plans suited to each market and job type.
  • Write, update, and manage job descriptions and job ads.
  • Publish and oversee openings on multiple hiring platforms.
  • Find candidates through job boards, referrals, networking, social channels, and direct outreach.
  • Review resumes and conduct initial phone or virtual screenings.
  • Assess candidates for skills, experience, fit, and overall potential.
  • Set up interviews between candidates and hiring managers.
  • Keep candidates informed and engaged throughout the hiring process.
  • Prepare and issue offers of employment.
  • Work with hiring managers to support timely decisions.
  • Track hiring metrics and look for ways to improve recruiting results.
  • Keep applicant tracking system records and recruiting files accurate and current.
  • Collaborate with the People team to improve recruiting processes and outcomes.

HR support

  • Help with onboarding activities and related HR projects when needed.
  • Handle sensitive employee information with strict confidentiality.
  • Provide administrative help to the People team as business needs require.

Qualifications

Candidates should have at least 3 years of full-cycle recruiting experience and be comfortable handling several openings at once. Strong interviewing ability, candidate evaluation skills, communication skills, organization, and attention to detail are essential. The role also requires the ability to work independently in a remote setting while coordinating effectively with cross-functional teams.

Experience recruiting for multi-location businesses is preferred, especially in retail, hospitality, childcare, education, fitness, franchising, healthcare, or similar customer-facing environments. A bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, Communications, or a related field is preferred, though equivalent work experience is also acceptable. Prior HR experience is an added advantage.

Skills and abilities

Success in this role calls for strong relationship-building, sound judgment, critical thinking, confidentiality, adaptability, initiative, and a customer-service mindset. The ideal hire will be able to coach managers on interview best practices, candidate selection, and market conditions while staying responsive and professional.

Work environment

This position is performed primarily from a remote office environment using standard office tools such as a computer, telephone, and video conferencing software. Occasional travel may be required for meetings, training, or company events.

Physical requirements

  • Remain seated for extended periods while working at a computer.
  • Frequently use a computer, keyboard, mouse, telephone, and other standard office equipment.
  • Regularly communicate with candidates, employees, and business leaders by phone, video, and email.
  • Occasionally move around for meetings or company events.
  • Occasionally lift and carry office materials weighing up to 15 pounds.

Compensation and benefits

The salary is listed as $70,000 per year, with bonus opportunity based on experience. Additional benefits include a 401(k), medical, dental, and vision insurance, paid time off, training and development, wellness resources, and a competitive benefits package.
