Job description
About the Role
EngageCX is looking for a contract recruiter to support a fast-paced hiring effort for licensed Medicare Benefits Counselors ahead of the Annual Enrollment season. The assignment involves two back-to-back class launches that must be sourced, license-checked, and filled within a tight 12-week timeline.
This position covers the entire candidate journey, including sourcing, structured phone screening, NPN and license verification, interview coordination, and tracking candidates through their start dates. It is an active recruiting role that depends on consistent outreach, strong daily production, and careful attention to Medicare licensing rules.
You will partner closely with the Director of Human Resources, the Director of Operations, and recruiting coordinators who help with scheduling, interview support, verifications, and process execution.
Key Responsibilities
- Find licensed Medicare sales agents through job boards, direct outreach, and referrals, focusing on candidates with active Life and Health licenses and at least 1 to 2 years of Medicare experience.
- Run structured 25-minute recruiter screens each day using a set pre-screen guide, checking background, availability, logistics, and alignment with the role.
- Meet daily screening goals of 8 to 10 pre-screens during the Class 1 sprint period and 3 to 4 pre-screens during the Class 2 sprint period.
- Forward qualified candidates to Aptia using the required submission workflow and handle interview scheduling coordination.
- Keep the candidate tracker updated the same day at every stage, including screening, NPN validation, client submission, interview, offer, and acceptance.
- Issue verbal offers to approved candidates, confirm acceptance, and pass signed agreements and compliance documents to the Director of Human Resources.
- Build the Class 2 pipeline while Class 1 is underway, including using candidates placed on hold from Class 1 to reduce sourcing volume.
- Act as the main contact for candidates from first outreach through start date, and respond to questions within the same business day.
- Escalate daily pipeline risks to the Director of Human Resources, including drops in conversion, source-channel performance, candidate drop-off, and any compliance issues.
Required Qualifications
- At least 2 years of full-cycle recruiting experience, including 1 year or more in high-volume or contact center hiring.
- Proven ability to meet daily call or screening targets in a structured recruiting setup.
- Familiarity with Medicare, insurance, or licensed healthcare hiring, with the confidence to discuss Medicare licensing requirements with candidates.
- Hands-on experience checking professional licenses or credentials during hiring.
- Strong pipeline management skills and comfort using Rippling's ATS or a similar tracking system with real-time updates.
- Ability to balance multiple priorities across two class timelines with different levels of urgency.
- Strong spoken communication skills, since most of the day will be spent speaking with candidates.
- Self-motivated and well organized, with the ability to hit daily targets independently.
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience recruiting for Medicare call centers, insurance carriers, or Medicare Advantage / Part D sales programs.
- Previous work submitting candidates through a vendor management system such as Beeline.
- Background working in a coordinator-supported recruiting model with shared scheduling and compliance handoffs.
- Comfort working under compressed timelines in a sprint-style hiring program.
Remote Work Requirements
This is a fully remote position, and the following home office setup is required:
- Dependable high-speed internet and a quiet, dedicated workspace.
- A laptop or desktop with video capability for team meetings and candidate interviews.
- Availability during standard business hours, with CST or EST preferred.
- Consistent responsiveness to calls and emails during the workday, as the role requires steady daily availability.
Compensation and Contract Details
- Hourly pay ranges from $50 to $55.
- The need is immediate.
- The contract is expected to continue through mid-August.
