Job description

Role Overview

This position supports all recreation-related activities within the property and helps create an enjoyable, relaxed atmosphere for guests. The role involves guiding guests through the recreational facilities available on site, which may include the pool, beach, entertainment or games area, gym, and children’s activity center.

Key Duties

  • Encourage guests to take part in recreational activities and manage sign-ups, introductions, and participation flow.
  • Maintain a welcoming, fun, and comfortable environment for guests using the recreation spaces.
  • Explain and enforce recreation rules and safety guidelines that protect guests and members.
  • Monitor activity areas and respond appropriately to emergencies according to local operating procedures.
  • Provide cashier support in locations where point-of-sale transactions are handled.
  • Assist with private functions, group activities, and events hosted in recreation facilities.
  • Watch for unsafe participation or hazardous situations and escalate concerns to a supervisor or manager.
  • Support injured guests until emergency medical help arrives.
  • Keep recreational spaces, supplies, and equipment clean and in proper condition.
  • Process payments for equipment rental, recreation programs, facility rentals, and retail sales.
  • Use computers and POS systems to enter, retrieve, and manage job-related information.
  • Inspect tools, equipment, and machines visually to identify issues or faults.
  • Work with guests and team members in a professional, courteous, and service-focused manner.

Safety, Conduct & Physical Requirements

You must report accidents, injuries, and unsafe working conditions to the manager and complete any required safety training and certifications. The role also requires compliance with company policies and procedures, maintaining a neat professional appearance, protecting confidential information, and safeguarding company assets.

The job may require extended periods of standing, sitting, or walking throughout the full shift. It also involves lifting, carrying, pushing, pulling, or positioning items weighing up to 25 pounds (11 kg) without assistance, and heavier items with help. You may need to grip and manipulate objects of different sizes, work in tight or elevated spaces, move across slippery, uneven, or inclined surfaces, climb stairs or ramps, and reach above your head or below your knees.

Guest Service Expectations

All guests should be welcomed and served according to company standards. The role calls for anticipating guest needs, assisting guests with disabilities, thanking guests sincerely, communicating clearly and professionally, answering phone calls with proper etiquette, and building positive working relationships that support team goals.

Qualifications

Preferred education is a high school diploma or an equivalent GED qualification. Prior related work experience is not required, and previous supervisory experience is also not required.

Required Certifications

Applicants must hold CPR certification, first aid certification, recreation and fitness equipment training, and any other certification or training required by local or state agencies.
