Job description

Role overview

This position is focused on keeping the hotel’s recreation and wellness areas welcoming, safe, and well maintained. The attendant supports daily guest use of the gym, poolside area, changing rooms, kids’ club, game room, and spa-related facilities while helping promote memberships and delivering friendly front-desk style support.

Key duties

  • Keep the gym space and equipment tidy, organized, and ready for use.
  • Ensure the reception area, changing rooms, poolside zone, gym, kids’ club, and game room remain clean and presentable.
  • Promote recreation facilities to hotel guests and potential members.
  • Supervise and assist in the kids’ club and game room.
  • Report lighting faults and any issues with mechanical equipment.
  • Guide guests in using spa facilities such as the sauna, steam room, and hot tub.
  • Follow all health, safety, and hygiene requirements at all times.
  • Maintain a professional appearance, attitude, and physique that supports the image of the recreation and fitness center.
  • Staff the recreation reception, answer incoming calls, and take or pass along phone messages.

General expectations

  • Work collaboratively and communicate well with colleagues across departments.
  • Be available to work a flexible roster.
  • Attend meetings, training programs, and any other required sessions.
  • Look for ways to improve service delivery and the overall guest offering.
  • Follow safe work methods at all times and raise any occupational health and safety concerns immediately to the direct manager or HR manager.
  • Help maintain hotel standards for room presentation.
  • Work toward productivity goals.
  • Support guest satisfaction through attention to feedback.
  • Complete all assigned rooms on time and in line with hotel service standards, where applicable.

Profile and qualifications

  • Must be able to speak and understand English; Arabic is an advantage but not compulsory.
  • Must be able to read and write in English.
  • Previous experience in recreation or housekeeping is preferred.
  • Should understand correct manual handling methods.
  • A proactive, energetic, and service-oriented approach is important.
  • Must present a well-groomed and professional image.
  • Should be comfortable working independently.
