About the Practice

The Frankton practice is a professional, close-knit workplace seeking a dependable, friendly, and attentive receptionist to join the team on a permanent full-time basis.

Role Overview

In this position, you will be the first person patients and visitors meet, so you will help shape a positive and efficient experience from the moment they arrive. This is a great opportunity for someone who enjoys administration, working with people, and contributing to a supportive healthcare setting.

Key Duties

  • Welcome patients and guests in a courteous, polished way while keeping the front desk area inviting and well-organised.
  • Handle incoming calls efficiently, route them appropriately, take messages, and share information as needed.
  • Coordinate patient bookings through dental scheduling software and keep the appointment calendar running smoothly.
  • Keep patient files and records up to date and manage office paperwork carefully and accurately.
  • Support patient arrivals and departures, including collecting relevant details and any payments where required.
  • Assist the dental team with administrative tasks such as filing, copying, and other general office work.
  • Respond to patient questions and concerns with professionalism, patience, and empathy.
  • Ensure the reception space remains tidy, organised, and hygienic in line with dental workplace standards.
  • Enter data correctly and promptly so that patient information remains accurate.
  • Help the practice run smoothly by taking on additional administrative tasks as needed.

Required Experience and Skills

  • Prior experience in a front desk or reception position, ideally in healthcare or a dental clinic.
  • Strong verbal and interpersonal communication skills and the ability to interact well with a wide range of people.
  • Good organisation and time management, with the ability to juggle several tasks at once.
  • Comfort using computers, office applications, and appointment booking systems.
  • Ability to protect confidential information and manage sensitive patient details responsibly.
  • A professional phone manner and a strong service-oriented approach.
  • High accuracy in administrative work and data entry.
  • Team-oriented mindset with the ability to work well alongside colleagues.
  • Bonus experience with dental practice software or other healthcare administration systems.
  • Useful knowledge of dental terms and common procedures.
  • Ability to stay composed and solve problems effectively when things become busy.
