Role overview

An established construction-sector business is hiring an experienced Quantity Surveyor for a permanent, office-based role in County Mayo, Ireland. This position offers the opportunity to support a varied range of commercial projects while joining a team that is continuing to grow successfully.

What you will do

  • Build detailed cost estimates and prepare tender documents.
  • Measure quantities from drawings and specifications with accuracy.
  • Oversee contract review and contract administration tasks.
  • Track project spending, valuations, and wider commercial reporting.
  • Raise purchase orders and keep an eye on project costs throughout delivery.
  • Prepare precise measurements, calculations, and related supporting records.
  • Maintain project accounts and up-to-date commercial documentation.
  • Work closely with suppliers, subcontractors, and internal stakeholders to help keep projects within budget.
  • Use Excel and PDF drawings to produce accurate commercial paperwork.

What the employer is looking for

  • A Level 7 or Level 8 qualification in Quantity Surveying.
  • At least 3 years of experience working as a Quantity Surveyor.
  • Background in the construction industry.
  • Strong commercial judgement and solid analytical ability.
  • Hands-on experience with quantity take-offs and construction contract administration.
  • Advanced ability in Microsoft Excel.
  • Highly organised approach with strong accuracy and attention to detail.
  • Clear communication skills and the ability to juggle several priorities at once.
  • Experience with estimating or quantity surveying software would be beneficial, though it is not mandatory.
