Job description
Job purpose
This role is accountable for driving the project quality management program and making sure the contractor’s quality management system is applied effectively throughout the installation of jackets, topsides, and pipeline works for the project. The Quality Lead for the DEHE Vessel oversees quality execution activities to help the project achieve its overall objectives.
Key responsibilities
- Put the Project Quality Plan into action and ensure the contractor’s project quality management system and related procedures are properly followed at the fabrication yard so that all work complies with project specifications.
- Apply the construction surveillance program to verify that fabrication and installation activities meet project requirements.
- Evaluate and approve EPC contractor and subcontractor inspection and test plans, quality control procedures, and testing procedures.
- Control and monitor welding quality across the scope of work.
- Participate in routine coordination meetings with the contractor and subcontractors to track progress and resolve any quality-related issues.
- Coordinate inspection manpower through approved Site Inspection Services agencies for surveillance inspections.
- Deliver Flawless Quality and welding training sessions with the contractor to reduce recurring defects.
- Carry out regular yard inspections with fabrication yard leadership to identify quality and safety concerns and areas that need improvement.
- Ensure inspection documentation is stored in a database aligned with the completions management system to support a smooth handover to commissioning.
- Run deficiency and NCR management processes so fabrication-related issues are identified, logged, investigated, and closed in line with project requirements.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Science or Engineering.
- Additional qualifications related to quality, welding, and NDE inspection.
- At least 8 years of experience in the offshore oil and gas sector, including 1 year in a supervisory capacity, acting role, or oversight of service/vendor personnel.
- Relevant experience must include installation of offshore structures and pipelines.
- Background with oil and gas operators, contractors, or service companies.
- Experience working in large operating organizations on operations and projects.
- Strong understanding of relevant quality systems, specifications, and tools.
- Good knowledge of industry standards.
- Excellent written and spoken English communication skills.

This position is based in Doha, Qatar and is an onsite contract role.
