Job description
Job Summary
The Quality Inspector supports civil and building projects by checking site work, verifying quality compliance, and making sure construction activities follow approved drawings, specifications, Inspection and Test Plans (ITPs), and relevant standards. This role involves coordinating with site teams and consultants, keeping quality records up to date, and helping close out non-conformances so that project delivery remains compliant and high quality.
Responsibilities
The role covers planning inspections, performing field checks, documenting results, and following up on quality issues through to closure.
- Study approved drawings, specifications, and method statements to understand the required inspection points and quality standards.
- Organize and align daily inspection work with Section Engineers, supervisors, and other site personnel.
- Confirm that work areas are ready for inspection before activities begin.
- Carry out inspections and testing in line with approved ITPs for civil, structural, and field construction works, depending on the project scope.
- Prepare, submit, and track Work Inspection Requests (WIR) and Material Inspection Requests (MIR).
- Join inspections with consultants, clients, and third-party inspectors when required.
- Coordinate inspection timing and monitor snag lists and punch items until all issues are resolved.
- Write daily quality inspection and quality control reports.
- Keep inspection, testing, and approval records updated according to project and contract requirements.
- Make sure all quality records are accurate, complete, and properly organized for traceability and audit purposes.
- Spot and report any work or materials that do not meet quality requirements in line with company procedures.
- Help raise Non-Conformance Reports (NCRs) and monitor corrective actions until they are closed.
- Support root cause analysis and help ensure preventive steps are applied to prevent repeat issues.
- Work with consultants, subcontractors, suppliers, and site teams on quality-related matters.
- Assist the Quality Engineer during audits, site inspections, and quality training or awareness activities.
- Support handover activities by ensuring inspection and quality documentation is complete and approved.
Requirements
- Diploma or Bachelor’s degree in Civil or Architecture.
- At least 5 years of experience in construction projects, preferably villa or building projects.
- Good knowledge of site inspection and testing processes.
- Hands-on experience with ITPs and quality documentation.
- Familiarity with WIRs, MIRs, NCRs, and inspection reporting.
- Proficiency in MS Word and MS Excel.
- Strong attention to detail and a solid quality mindset.
- Good communication, coordination, and reporting abilities.
- Comfortable working in site and field-based environments.
