Job description

About the company

SGS is a leading global provider of testing, inspection, and certification services. With a reputation built on quality and integrity, the company operates as a worldwide reference point for trusted standards. Its 93,000-strong workforce is spread across 2,600 offices and laboratories, contributing to a safer, better-connected world.

Role overview

This position is focused on civil quality control for road and infrastructure works. The inspector will examine project records, verify site execution, and confirm that construction activities match approved requirements, drawings, and standards.

Key duties

  • Examine project documents, including material submissions, inspection and test plans, and method statements for civil, mechanical, and electrical works, then share observations with the Works Agency QA/QC Manager.
  • Carry out inspections throughout the construction process to ensure materials, equipment, and workmanship comply with project specifications and approved ITPs.
  • Check that site execution follows sanctioned drawings, project specifications, and applicable codes.
  • Assess the quality of construction inputs such as soil, aggregates, asphalt, concrete, and other materials used in roads, drainage networks, and related infrastructure.
  • Monitor civil activities such as earthworks, including cutting, filling, and compaction; asphalt paving; concrete works; drainage pipe, culvert, and manhole installation; and work on retaining walls, bridges, tunnels, dams, and similar structures.
  • Take part in final inspections to verify that completed works satisfy quality expectations before handover.

Qualifications and experience

Candidates should hold a diploma or degree in Civil, Mechanical, or Electrical Engineering, or a closely related discipline. A minimum of 5 years of QC experience in road and infrastructure construction is required.

Certifications and technical knowledge

Applicants are expected to have relevant construction quality control certifications, such as ISO 9001 Lead Auditor, CSWIP, BGAS, ASNT, IEC, NEC, or equivalent local standards. Familiarity with material testing standards like BS, ASTM, and AASHTO is also important.

Additional information

Applicants should include their CV, technical certificates, and approval documents with their submission.
