About the Role
Master Works is hiring a Quality Assurance Specialist with hands-on experience in software testing and defect handling. This position focuses on running both manual and automated test cycles, documenting issues clearly, and partnering with development teams to help deliver reliable software in an Agile setting.
Key Responsibilities
- Create test plans, test cases, and end-to-end testing approaches for software products.
- Set up, prepare, and maintain test environments so they are ready for every testing cycle.
- Carry out manual and automated testing, then record results accurately.
- Spot defects, enter them into tracking systems, and follow them through resolution.
- Work closely with developers to confirm fixes and carry out retesting.
- Manage broad test coverage efforts to improve both efficiency and product quality.
- Check resolved issues and run regression tests to make sure fixes do not introduce new problems and existing features continue to work properly.
- Analyze business and technical requirements to verify that they are complete, testable, and aligned with quality expectations.
- Track software quality measures and suggest improvements where needed.
- Assist with release activities by completing final quality checks and providing sign-off.
- Guide junior QA team members and encourage strong quality practices across projects.
- Take part in Agile ceremonies such as sprint planning, sprint reviews, and retrospectives.
- Follow company quality standards, internal policies, and software development processes.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, Information Technology, or a related discipline.
- At least 2 years of experience in software quality assurance and testing.
- Solid exposure to both manual and automated testing methods.
- Practical experience with test management and defect tracking tools such as Jira, Azure DevOps, or TestRail.
- Familiarity with test automation frameworks and associated tools.
- Strong analytical thinking, troubleshooting ability, and communication skills.
- Working knowledge of Agile and Scrum development practices.
Preferred Certifications
- ISTQB Certified Tester at Foundation or Advanced level.
- Certified Software Quality Engineer (CSQE) or a comparable certification.
