About the Company

Nova International General Contracting is a newly founded contracting and construction business in the UAE. The company focuses on delivering high-quality branded residences and aims to build a strong reputation for innovation, reliability, and client satisfaction. Its long-term goal is to become a trusted delivery partner for landmark projects that contribute to the UAE’s built environment.

Role Overview

The QC Inspector will be responsible for carrying out quality checks and testing across civil, structural, and finishing activities on active project sites. The role requires ensuring that all work aligns with approved drawings, specifications, method statements, inspection and test plans, and local authority requirements. This position is central to preventing defects and rework, while also supporting the QA/QC team with documentation, coordination, and compliance follow-up.

Core Duties

  • Examine formwork, reinforcement, concrete placement, curing activities, and dimensional accuracy for civil and structural works.
  • Track blockwork, plastering, screed, waterproofing, backfilling, compaction, and similar site activities.
  • Confirm that materials and workmanship match approved material inspection requests, inspection and test plans, and project specifications.
  • Check that alignment, levels, and tolerances are in line with the approved drawings.
  • Inspect architectural and finishing tasks such as tiling, marble and granite installation, gypsum work, joinery, doors, painting, metal works, and decorative finishes.
  • Carry out mock-up inspections before full-scale execution begins.
  • Validate finishing quality, including levels, plumbness, alignment, and overall aesthetic standards.
  • Coordinate third-party laboratory testing for concrete, soil, and other material samples.
  • Review laboratory results to confirm compliance with ASTM and BS standards.
  • Issue prompt notifications when test results are not acceptable.
  • Prepare and submit inspection requests and requests for inspection/verification for civil and finishing works as required by the ITP.
  • Maintain organized records for inspection requests, material inspection requests, non-conformance reports, test results, and site quality documents.
  • Ensure QA/QC files are complete, traceable, and properly stored.
  • Identify non-conforming work or materials and escalate issues to the line manager.
  • Work with site supervisors to implement corrective actions.
  • Confirm rectification work and help close out NCRs.
  • Coordinate inspections with consultants and client representatives.
  • Work closely with site engineers, foremen, and subcontractors to keep work progressing smoothly.
  • Attend QA/QC and site coordination meetings as required.
  • Assist with pre-handover checks and punch list completion.

Required Qualifications and Experience

  • A diploma or bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering, Architectural Engineering, or an equivalent qualification is required.
  • At least 7 years of QA/QC experience involving both civil and finishing works.
  • Strong knowledge of civil and architectural construction standards.
  • Previous exposure to UAE consultant processes and QA/QC procedures.
  • Ability to read drawings and technical specifications accurately.

Skills and Competencies

  • Strong attention to detail and a clear focus on workmanship quality.
  • Effective communication and reporting skills for inspections.
  • Capability to work independently and handle multiple inspection assignments.
  • Good understanding of QA/QC records, inspection and test plans, and testing procedures.
  • Ability to coordinate several trades on fast-moving project sites.

Performance Expectations

  • Inspection submissions and approvals must be completed on time.
  • Rework and defect levels should remain low.
  • NCRs should be resolved within a short turnaround time.
  • QC records must be accurate and complete.
  • Work must consistently comply with inspection and test plans and project specifications.
  • Client satisfaction should be maintained through successful handover.
