Role overview
This full-time onsite position is for a meticulous QA Tester / Test Analyst based in New Zealand. The role focuses on planning, running, and recording software testing efforts to help ensure that applications and systems are dependable, accurate, and perform well. Core responsibilities
- Create and maintain test plans, test cases, and test scripts.
- Carry out functional, regression, integration, and user acceptance testing.
- Find software defects, document them clearly, and monitor their progress through resolution.
- Work closely with developers, business analysts, and other project stakeholders to understand requirements and address issues.
- Review system requirements and translate them into effective test strategies.
- Confirm that bug fixes work as expected before release.
- Compile test summaries and share testing status with relevant stakeholders.
- Assist with release activities and validate systems after deployment.
- Help improve QA practices and testing methods over time.
- Support automation testing efforts where needed.
Requirements
- A bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Software Engineering, or a similar discipline.
- Prior experience in software testing, quality assurance, or test analysis is desirable.
- Good understanding of the Software Development Life Cycle (SDLC) and the Software Testing Life Cycle (STLC).
- Hands-on exposure to defect tracking and test management tools.
- Strong analytical ability, problem-solving skills, and close attention to detail.
- Excellent written and spoken communication skills.
- Comfortable working both independently and as part of a team.
- Must be legally authorized to work in New Zealand.
