Job description

Role overview

Extantia is hiring a QA Analyst to strengthen its Product team in Berlin. The role is focused on improving product quality across the full delivery cycle, working side by side with developers, product managers, and other stakeholders to define, maintain, and raise quality standards from the earliest design conversations through release.

Key responsibilities

  • Build, update, and maintain automated test suites that support continuous delivery.
  • Carry out exploratory and manual testing to detect defects before they reach end users.
  • Work closely with engineers throughout development to bring quality in early by reviewing requirements, identifying edge cases, and helping shape acceptance criteria.
  • Investigate and sort bugs, including clear reproduction notes and input on priority.
  • Assist with release readiness by confirming test coverage and checking that sign-off requirements are satisfied.
  • Spot weaknesses in the current test coverage and recommend ways to improve the overall testing approach.
  • Promote quality-minded practices within the team through retrospectives and process improvement discussions.

What we're looking for

  • At least 4 years of experience in QA or software testing.
  • Practical experience with automation tools and frameworks such as Cypress, Playwright, Selenium, pytest, or similar.
  • Strong knowledge of testing methods, including unit, integration, end-to-end, and exploratory testing.
  • Background working in an agile product team with engineers and product managers.
  • Good analytical skills and a strong eye for detail.
  • Ability to communicate issues, risks, and quality concerns clearly and succinctly.
  • A team-oriented mindset that treats quality as a shared responsibility.

What the company offers

The team works in a fast-moving environment where much is being built from the ground up, with a strong sense of ownership and team spirit. The role is tied directly to the energy transition, and extra days off are provided for climate activism. The working model is hybrid and trust-based: working from home is the standard, with two days per week set as a flexible norm, while the remaining schedule is arranged to best support collaboration and focused work. Depending on what suits the team, work from other locations and workations are also possible. A flexible bonus is included and can be used for sports, culture, travel, or other personal interests. When the office is operating, food can be ordered there through Wolt. The environment is mission-driven but informal, with offsites, team nights, and "Bees & Beers" as part of the culture.

Additional information

The location for this position is Berlin, Germany. This is a full-time onsite role, with a hybrid work setup described in the offer. No vacancy count, salary, or start date were specified in the source.
