Role overview

The organisation is looking for a Quality Assurance Advisor for civil works to join the project team on a full-time, site-based basis for an upcoming utility-scale solar project north of Auckland.

This is a practical, on-site position focused on helping civil construction activities meet the required quality standards, technical specifications, and project expectations throughout the build.

You will work with the Senior Project Manager, Construction Manager, HSE Manager, engineers, subcontractors, and client representatives to put quality systems into practice, carry out inspections, manage non-conformances, and support readiness for project handover.

Key responsibilities

• Serve as the on-site quality contact for civil works, making sure activities align with drawings, specifications, ITPs, client expectations, and New Zealand standards.
• Perform inspections and quality reviews across earthworks, trenching, concrete, drainage, roads, foundations, and other civil installation tasks.
• Maintain quality records such as inspection logs, test outcomes, compliance reports, and handover files.
• Track quality issues through NCRs, corrective actions, and ongoing improvement actions until close-out.
• Coordinate with project teams, subcontractors, and stakeholders to strengthen quality results and support smooth project delivery.

Requirements

• At least 5 years of experience in QA/QC within civil construction, infrastructure, renewable energy, or large-scale project environments.
• Solid knowledge of civil construction activities, including earthworks, concrete, trenching, foundations, and inspection practices.
• Ability to read and interpret drawings, specifications, and ITPs, and to manage quality records and reporting accurately.
• Demonstrated experience working with subcontractors and site teams to uphold quality standards and resolve issues.
• Highly detail-oriented, proactive, and able to work independently in a busy construction setting.
