Role summary
This is a full-time, in-office Public Relations Consultant position in Surat, Gujarat. The role is focused on strengthening the organization’s public image with media, industry stakeholders, and readers through thoughtful communication planning and execution.
Key responsibilities
- Create and carry out PR plans that support the organization’s reputation and visibility.
- Write and circulate press releases, media kits, and other communication materials.
- Arrange interviews, media briefings, and press events when needed.
- Build and maintain relationships with journalists, editors, and other media contacts.
- Handle incoming media questions and coordinate timely responses.
- Proactively identify and pitch relevant stories and thought-leadership opportunities.
- Advise leadership on communication strategy and messaging.
- Track public sentiment, media coverage, and overall brand perception.
- Maintain consistency across corporate communications on social and digital channels.
Required qualifications
- Hands-on experience in public relations and media relations, especially in developing connections with journalists, editors, and outlets.
- Ability to draft press releases and produce clear, effective media content.
- Strong communication and corporate communication skills, with the ability to adapt messages for different audiences and formats.
- Proven ability to plan and execute PR campaigns for news, media, or information-focused organizations.
- Excellent written and spoken English; knowledge of relevant Indian languages will be an added advantage.
- Background in news media, public affairs, policy, or a related field is preferred.
- A bachelor’s degree in Communications, Public Relations, Journalism, Media Studies, or a similar discipline, or equivalent practical experience.
- Strong organizational ability, sharp attention to detail, and comfort working under strict deadlines in a fast-moving environment.
