Compensation and work arrangement
The budgeted pay range for this position is $19.10 to $22.50 per hour, depending on relevant experience. The company offers the option to work remotely or from an office.
What you will do
- Research and apply complex enrollment rules for payers, including requirements that vary by state and specialty.
- Handle a large volume of provider enrollment submissions from start to finish, including escalated cases, with accuracy and timeliness.
- Review and resolve advanced email, ticket, and payer-related issues while serving as a knowledgeable resource for the team.
- Manage revalidation and recredentialing work for multi-state providers and more complex provider groups.
- Submit and maintain updates for remittance and practice addresses, following payer-specific documentation and compliance rules.
- Assist with payer transition efforts and process improvement work by sharing observations from enrollment patterns and trends.
- Keep stakeholders, leaders, and clients informed about risks, delays, and compliance concerns tied to assigned cases.
- Develop productive working relationships with payer contacts, providers, and internal teams to support smooth enrollment outcomes.
- Offer guidance, support, or mentorship to other Provider Enrollment Specialist team members when needed.
- Help improve team workflows and contribute to stronger enrollment best practices.
- Take on additional responsibilities as needed.
What we are looking for
- An associate degree, or an equivalent mix of education and practical experience.
- At least three years of progressive experience in provider enrollment, credentialing, or healthcare payer relations.
- Strong knowledge of Medicare, Medicaid, and commercial payer enrollment, including new applications, revalidation, and ongoing maintenance.
- Practical experience with provider systems and portals such as CAQH ProView, PECOS, NPPES, Availity, and payer-specific platforms.
- Ability to independently manage complex, high-volume enrollment work while maintaining quality and speed.
- Experience identifying, investigating, and resolving enrollment problems, mismatches, and payer denials.
- Ability to interpret CMS guidance and state-level regulations related to provider enrollment and compliance.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office and credentialing or enrollment databases.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills for interacting with providers, payer representatives, and internal leaders.
- Comfort working in a HIPAA-compliant environment and following regulatory requirements.
- Experience guiding, training, or supporting junior staff is beneficial.
