Job description
About the Role
Join an innovative and integrated healthcare organization as an Operational Property and Space Manager at Torbay and South Devon NHS Foundation Trust. We are seeking a bright and ambitious individual with a proven background in managing customer-focused property administration services within complex environments, ideally within the healthcare sector. This key role within our operational team is crucial for providing excellent service to our patients and clinical colleagues. You will be instrumental in developing and executing the organization's estates operational plans, ensuring robust financial, workforce, and performance management systems are in place.
Key Responsibilities
The Property and Space Manager, reporting to the Associate Director - Estates Infrastructure & Compliance, will lead all property-related activities for the Trust. This includes managing leased properties where the Trust is either the tenant or the landlord. A primary focus will be optimizing space utilization across the estate to ensure maximum efficiency. You will collaborate closely with Workplace colleagues and various Trust client teams, contributing to the management of Estates Capital Projects, property portfolios, and energy/environmental initiatives. The role demands proactive management of property acquisition and disposal, lease administration, and navigating legal complexities. Working with the wider Workplace team, you will ensure a safe environment for patients and staff, maintain strong financial oversight, and ensure lease compliance.
Why Join Us?
Our Estate and Facilities Team is a supportive and welcoming group eager to assist you. We offer training to help you acclimate to a clinical setting. We value work-life balance and support our employees in maintaining their personal lives. Benefits include 27 days of annual leave (increasing to 30 days), bank holidays, NHS discounts, and an attractive NHS pension scheme. We expect all Estates and Facilities staff to embody our organizational values: Working together for people, Commitment to quality care, Compassion, Improving lives, Everyone counts, and Respect and dignity.
