Role Overview
This remote contract opportunity is for a Project Scheduler/Planner supporting a scheduling and planning team within an engineering and construction environment. The role focuses on building, maintaining, and monitoring schedules for a wide range of energy infrastructure work, with regular interaction across multiple project groups. Work is aligned to Eastern Time and follows standard office hours.
Assignment Details
- Location: Remote, with work hours based on Eastern Time.
- Schedule: Standard office hours in the Eastern Time zone.
- Contract length: 12 months.
- Compensation: $26.00 to $30.00 per hour.
What You Will Do
- Develop, maintain, and revise project schedules in Primavera P6 while keeping schedule data accurate through every project stage.
- Build monthly construction progress reports that compare approved baseline plans with current progress, including critical path analysis, resource and cost loading, manpower planning, submittal tracking, forecast impacts, and recovery actions.
- Work closely with project originators, developers, engineers, early-stage managers, and construction managers to collect scope details, logistical needs, and constraints for schedule development.
- Run schedule review meetings with stakeholders and make sure resources are assigned to the right activities.
- Support a varied portfolio of energy projects, including wind, solar, energy storage, transmission lines, substations, pipelines, and combined cycle facilities.
- Summarize project progress and schedule deviations for leadership in a clear, concise format.
- Contribute to project delivery across the full lifecycle as part of a collaborative planning group.
Background and Qualifications
- A bachelor's degree in Engineering, Construction Management, Business Management, or a closely related discipline is required.
- At least 3 years of project scheduling experience is preferred; alternatively, 4+ years in project management with hands-on experience comparing project execution to schedule baselines and conducting ad hoc analysis.
- Working knowledge of Primavera P6, or the ability to quickly learn and apply scheduling tools.
- Strong teamwork skills and the ability to engage contributors at all levels to gather information and turn it into workable plans.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills, including the ability to present schedule information to managers and cross-functional teams.
- Analytical thinking with the ability to review, verify, and assess outside information critically.
- Good process management, prioritization, and problem-solving abilities, along with a proactive approach to execution.
