About the Role

Allied Steel Buildings is seeking a seasoned Project Manager to oversee high-value projects, primarily in the Caribbean region. This role involves comprehensive management of project scheduling, budgeting, resource allocation, logistics, and direct client communication for projects utilizing Pre-Engineered Metal Buildings (PEMB) and conventional steel framing systems. The position requires approximately 25%-30% travel.

Responsibilities

  • Develop detailed project plans, defining scope, objectives, and deliverables.
  • Formulate project strategies aligned with company objectives and client expectations.
  • Proactively identify and address potential project risks, challenges, and opportunities.
  • Lead and guide project teams to ensure execution adheres to design, safety, and quality standards.
  • Manage daily project operations, including assigning tasks, allocating resources, and tracking progress.
  • Monitor project timelines, making necessary adjustments to maintain schedule adherence.
  • Serve as the main point of contact for clients, providing regular updates and resolving concerns.
  • Cultivate strong client relationships by ensuring their needs and expectations are consistently met.
  • Effectively communicate project status, changes, and risks to clients, managing their expectations.
  • Develop and manage project budgets, meticulously tracking expenses and ensuring financial compliance.
  • Monitor financial performance against project milestones and implement corrective actions as needed.
  • Collaborate with the finance department for accurate project financial forecasting and management.
  • Ensure all project activities and deliverables meet established quality standards and client specifications.
  • Implement quality control measures to verify compliance with industry and organizational standards.
  • Oversee inspections, testing, and verification of materials and construction processes.
  • Coordinate with a diverse range of stakeholders, including architects, engineers, contractors, and subcontractors, to ensure project success.
  • Facilitate effective communication and collaboration among various project teams to achieve shared project goals.
  • Mitigate project risks through the implementation of robust risk management strategies and contingency plans.
  • Lead, mentor, and motivate project team members, offering guidance and support to enhance performance.
  • Foster a positive and collaborative team environment that encourages teamwork, growth, and skill development.
  • Prepare and deliver comprehensive project reports detailing progress, achievements, and upcoming activities.
  • Maintain accurate and organized project documentation, including contracts, permits, change orders, and records.
  • Undertake travel as required, estimated at 25%-30% of the work duration.

Requirements

  • Hold a Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Construction Management, Engineering, Architecture, or a related discipline.
  • Possess at least 3 years of experience in Construction Project Management.
  • Demonstrated experience in managing Pre-Engineered Metal Building (PEMB) projects from initiation through completion is advantageous.
  • Exhibit strong leadership and project management capabilities, with a proven ability to inspire project teams.
  • Maintain a thorough understanding of construction methodologies, codes, regulations, and safety standards pertinent to PEMB projects.
  • Fluency in Spanish is beneficial for engaging with the Caribbean market.
  • Be prepared to travel approximately 25%-30% of the work schedule.
  • Possess excellent communication, negotiation, and client management abilities.
  • Be proficient in using project management software and relevant tools.
  • Demonstrate the capacity to manage multiple projects concurrently, effectively prioritizing tasks.
