Company overview
Sunergise is a renewable energy specialist offering end-to-end services and is recognized as the largest privately owned solar asset operator in Oceania. With work across New Zealand and the Pacific, the company funds, designs, installs, and services tailored solar systems for commercial customers on both grid-connected and off-grid sites. Founded in 2012, Sunergise focuses on delivering reliable renewable energy solutions that help businesses move away from fossil fuels toward cleaner, more affordable power.
Role summary
This full-time position is based in Auckland or Tauranga and combines project management with electrical engineering expertise. The successful candidate will lead the delivery of commercial and industrial solar PV projects from start to finish, coordinating schedules, budgets, internal teams, contractors, and suppliers while ensuring technical and safety standards are met.
Key responsibilities
The role covers planning and execution across the full project lifecycle, including building schedules, managing budgets, and keeping delivery on track. You will also review and/or produce detailed electrical and solar PV designs, check drawings and technical specifications, and make sure work complies with applicable codes, standards, and safety rules.
In addition, you will coordinate the movement of materials and equipment, track project milestones, manage site logistics, and carry out or oversee inspections and quality assurance activities. The position also includes preparing project records, technical documentation, and commissioning paperwork, as well as maintaining clear communication with stakeholders and clients. You will also help improve internal project management and engineering practices over time.
Qualifications and experience
Applicants should bring strong delivery skills in project management, with the ability to plan, execute, and close several solar PV projects while staying on time and within budget. Experience with inspections is important, including site visits, factory acceptance testing, and quality checks against technical and safety requirements.
A bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering or a closely related engineering field is required, along with practical exposure to solar PV design, construction, or commissioning. Familiarity with electrical regulations, grid connection rules, and health and safety requirements for solar installations is expected. Skills with engineering/design tools such as AutoCAD and solar PV software such as PVsyst are highly desirable. Strong communication and stakeholder management abilities are also essential.
