Role Overview

Egis is hiring a detail-focused and seasoned Project Engineer for Bridges and Highway Structures Operations & Maintenance to work in Doha, Qatar on a long-term strategic highways project. The position supports the Structures Manager in overseeing inspections and maintenance for bridges and other highway structures, with a focus on safety, structural integrity and serviceability in line with contract SLAs and KPIs.

The scope includes bridges, footbridges, flyovers, interchanges, iconic bridges, tunnels, monuments, culverts, retaining walls, gantries, masts and other related highway assets.

Key Responsibilities

  • Coordinate the tasks assigned by the Project Manager so that inspection, preventive maintenance and corrective maintenance activities comply with contractual obligations and consistently meet SLA and KPI targets.
  • Oversee the day-to-day deployment of internal teams and subcontractors working on structures to ensure efficient use of resources and consistent execution.
  • Maintain proper use of the Asset Management System (MAXIMO) for creating, tracking and closing Work Orders and Service Requests accurately and efficiently across all parties involved.
  • Assist the Structures Manager in managing deliverables, attending client discussions and liaising with stakeholders, subcontractors and internal teams.
  • Work closely with other disciplines such as traffic management, lighting, highways, pavement and HSE to support integrated operations and maintenance across the network.

Required Qualifications and Experience

  • A bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering or Structural Engineering.
  • Project management qualification along with relevant experience.
  • Hands-on experience in operations and maintenance contracts covering bridges and other highway structures.
  • Background in coordinating across disciplines, delivering projects and engaging with clients.
  • Understanding of bridge asset management, condition assessment approaches and lifecycle planning.
  • Familiarity with Enterprise Asset Management systems, preferably MAXIMO, and Bridge Management Systems, preferably BMS.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving ability, including interpreting data and building preventive maintenance, corrective maintenance and capital improvement plans.
  • High attention to detail and the ability to handle several tasks at once while ensuring work is done correctly the first time.
  • Good written and verbal communication skills, including the ability to prepare technical reports and manage stakeholder communication.
  • Comfortable working in multidisciplinary teams and willing to travel for meetings, site inspections and client visits.

This is a long-term, on-site role based in Doha Metropolitan Area, Qatar. The job involves regular coordination with multiple teams and external stakeholders, as well as travel for site, client and meeting-related visits.
