About the Role

AECOM is hiring an accomplished Project Director to join its Singapore team. The position begins with leadership of Phase 2 of the Integrated Waste Management Facility (IWMF) project in Tuas and is intended to expand into other major, high-complexity projects in Singapore over time. The role calls for long-term leadership across multiple project stages, with a strong focus on delivery, team development, and business growth.

What You’ll Do

  • Lead the planning and execution of the IWMF project, keeping timelines, budgets, and quality targets on track.
  • Shape and roll out project strategies that support business objectives and client priorities.
  • Guide and develop the project team while promoting a cooperative and productive environment.
  • Support business growth by spotting opportunities and strengthening client partnerships.
  • Manage the full project journey, including concept development, business case preparation, design, procurement, site execution, and commissioning.
  • Identify project risks and put mitigation measures in place while ensuring compliance with applicable regulations.
  • Work closely with internal teams and external stakeholders to drive successful outcomes.
  • Prepare regular progress updates and reports for senior leadership and clients.
  • Apply proven project management methods, tools, and best practices.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Project Management, Engineering, or a closely related discipline.
  • At least 15 years of project management experience, including a minimum of 5 years in a senior leadership capacity.
  • Strong record of delivering large, complex waste-to-energy projects.
  • Hands-on experience with waste-to-energy or waste treatment facilities with a treatment capacity of at least 750 tonnes per day per plant.
  • Solid knowledge of project lifecycle management and risk evaluation.
  • Strong leadership, people management, and stakeholder engagement skills.
  • Proven ability to support business development and manage client relationships.
  • Excellent communication, interpersonal, and problem-solving abilities.
  • Strategic mindset with the ability to operate effectively in a fast-moving environment.
  • Experience using project management software and tools.
  • Comfort managing budgets and preparing financial reports.
  • Good understanding of industry standards and project management best practices.
  • Candidates are expected to clearly mention the project name, location, and treatment capacity (t/day) of relevant work in recent experience.
