Role overview
This is a senior leadership opportunity for a seasoned Project Director to steer the delivery of major construction schemes in the building envelope and façade space. The position carries end-to-end responsibility for project outcomes, with a focus on safe delivery, quality, commercial performance, operational efficiency, and contribution to wider business strategy.

Key responsibilities
- Take full leadership accountability for delivering multiple projects successfully, making sure they are completed safely, on schedule, within budget, and to the required standard of quality.
- Guide, coach, and develop Contracts Managers and site management personnel.
- Monitor and improve profitability across all live projects, including financial control and performance.
- Create and roll out KPI systems to track health and safety, quality, programme progress, and commercial results.
- Work with Design and Operations teams to shape project planning and construction programmes.
- Track contractual obligations and ensure all requirements are met throughout the project lifecycle.
- Lead commercial and contractual negotiations with main contractors, including final account resolution.
- Build and maintain strong working relationships with clients, contractors, suppliers, and other stakeholders.
- Oversee contract administration, subcontract agreements, notices, and project records.
- Assess budgets, margins, cashflow projections, and commercial reports for ongoing projects.
- Assist Contracts Managers and Quantity Surveyors in commercial discussions and payment negotiations.
- Direct workforce planning, resource deployment, and capacity management across projects.
- Encourage a culture of accountability, continuous improvement, and ownership at project level.
- Coordinate with Design, Production, Procurement, Finance, HR, and Health & Safety teams to improve delivery outcomes.
- Contribute to tendering and pre-construction work when needed.
- Prepare performance updates for senior leadership, including risks and opportunities.
- Play an active role in strategic planning as part of the Senior Management Team.
- Promote operational improvements, efficiency measures, and best-practice adoption across the business.
Requirements
- A degree in Civil Engineering, Construction Management, Project Management, or a closely related field is preferred.
- Formal project management training would be an advantage.
- Substantial industry experience may be accepted in place of formal academic qualifications.
- At least 10 years of experience in senior leadership positions within construction, manufacturing, or other project-led environments.
- A strong history of delivering large and complex projects successfully, on time and within budget.
- Relevant experience in the building envelope and façade sector in Ireland and/or the UK.
- Good understanding of current construction methods and end-to-end project delivery processes.
- In-depth knowledge of construction contracts, construction law, and dispute resolution.
- Strong leadership, mentoring, team development, and stakeholder management capability.
- Solid commercial judgement, including experience managing profit and cashflow.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office, Microsoft Project, and project reporting tools.
- Ability to read and interpret architectural and engineering drawings.
- Full driving licence required.
- Managing Safely in Construction certification, or an equivalent qualification, is required.
