Job description

Role overview

PowerNet is hiring a full-time Project Business Analyst to help guide business improvement and transformation work, starting with support for the rollout of a new CRM platform. Based in the Invercargill office in Southland, this position will also contribute to a broader mix of technology and organisational change initiatives.

What the role is about

In this position, you will work as a key link between business needs and practical delivery. Reporting to the Project Owner and partnering with Project Managers, business leaders, and other stakeholders, you will examine current processes, identify ways to improve outcomes, document requirements, and help projects move successfully through design, testing, implementation, and handover.

The role suits someone who enjoys working across people, process, and technology, and who can turn business challenges into clear, workable solutions.

Key responsibilities

  • Review and record current workflows as well as the target future-state processes.
  • Spot opportunities to raise efficiency, improve business performance, and strengthen customer outcomes.
  • Collect, confirm, and maintain business requirements for multiple projects and initiatives.
  • Run workshops, interviews, and other stakeholder engagement sessions.
  • Convert business needs into practical, well-defined requirements and recommendations.
  • Contribute to solution design, testing, implementation, and transition into operations.
  • Evaluate the effects of change and support readiness and adoption activities.
  • Work with cross-functional teams, subject matter experts, and outside vendors.
  • Prepare project materials such as reports, process maps, and business cases as needed.
  • Help drive continuous improvement and the delivery of strategic initiatives.

What we’re looking for

The ideal candidate will have hands-on experience in business analysis, process improvement, project delivery, or organisational change. A qualification in Business Analysis, Change Management, Project Management, or a similar field is preferred.

You should bring strong communication, facilitation, and stakeholder engagement skills, along with experience in gathering and documenting business and functional requirements. Comfort with process mapping methods and business analysis tools is also important.

We’re looking for someone with strong analytical and problem-solving ability, a proactive mindset, and the confidence to build productive working relationships at all levels of the organisation. Experience on technology, systems, or business transformation projects will be an advantage.
