When Brown Girls Lead (WBGL) is an educational consulting firm dedicated to developing leaders, supporting strategic planning, and building effective instructional systems for traditional and charter districts. We also assist schools with diversity, equity, inclusion, and anti-racism initiatives, utilizing research-based strategies to benefit all children and staff. Our consultants are recognized experts in school turnaround, teacher and leader coaching, and a variety of other specialized areas.
About the Position
When Brown Girls Lead (WBGL) is seeking an equity-centered educational leader to join us as the Program Director & Lead Presenter. This pivotal role involves designing, facilitating, and managing impactful professional learning experiences for educational institutions nationwide. The position integrates external leadership development and presentation duties with internal program planning, coordination, and execution across all WBGL initiatives. The ideal candidate is a skilled facilitator and strategist adept at leading adult learning, developing systems, supporting coaching efforts, and transforming vision into tangible programming. A strong foundation in instructional leadership, equity-focused practices, organizational development, and the practicalities of K–12 school leadership is essential. This is a highly collaborative leadership role, working directly with Dr. Nadia A. Bennett and the WBGL team to enhance the organization's reach and the quality of its programming.
Key Responsibilities
Professional Learning & Facilitation
- Develop and deliver engaging professional development sessions for school and district leaders, instructional teams, and educators.
- Lead workshops, retreats, coaching sessions, and presentations that align with WBGL's mission and established frameworks.
- Facilitate equity-centered leadership development and instructional improvement initiatives.
- Adapt presentations and learning experiences to meet specific client needs, objectives, and data.
- Act as a strategic advisor to school leaders on matters of systems, instruction, culture, and organizational advancement.
Program Leadership & Internal Planning
- Manage the planning and coordination of WBGL's program offerings and leadership development initiatives.
- Assist in creating scopes of work, implementation strategies, project timelines, and client deliverables.
- Administer internal systems related to coaching programs, professional learning series, and leadership development.
- Collaborate with the WBGL team to ensure high-quality project execution and client engagement.
- Track program progress, manage logistics, and oversee communications to maintain alignment and ensure a positive client experience.
Coaching & Leadership Development
- Provide one-on-one leadership coaching focused on instructional leadership, system alignment, and organizational growth.
- Support ongoing leadership coaching efforts and school partnerships.
- Contribute to the creation of tools, resources, protocols, and structures that enhance implementation.
- Participate in school assessments, observations, feedback sessions, and strategic planning discussions.
- Assist schools and leaders in translating learning into sustainable practices and systems.
Organizational Support
- Contribute to the strategic development and enhancement of WBGL's programs and overall strategy.
- Support the organization of conferences, institutes, webinars, and leadership events.
- Assist with internal planning meetings, program development, and cross-team coordination.
- Represent WBGL professionally in client interactions and public forums.
Qualifications
Ideal Candidates Will Possess:
- Extensive experience in K–12 educational leadership, preferably at the school or district level.
- Proficiency in facilitation and public speaking.
- Demonstrated experience in designing and delivering adult professional learning programs.
- A deep understanding of equity-centered leadership and instructional improvement methodologies.
- Strong project management and organizational capabilities.
- The ability to manage multiple projects and deadlines concurrently.
- Experience in coaching, leadership development, or systems planning.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- The capacity to build robust relationships with school and district leaders.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Previous experience as a principal, assistant principal, instructional coach, director, or district leader.
- Experience leading large-scale professional development initiatives.
- Familiarity with data-driven leadership and instructional systems.
Position Details
- Must reside in the New York, New Jersey, or Pennsylvania area.
- This is a full-time position.
- Travel is required for client engagements and presentations.
