About the Role
Rahua Beauty is seeking a highly organized and detail-oriented Production Planning Assistant Manager to join its operations team in the New York City Metropolitan Area. This role is crucial for the daily execution of production planning activities for the company's hair care product line. Responsibilities include managing purchase orders, maintaining Bills of Materials (BOMs), and setting up new items within the NetSuite system. This position offers a significant growth opportunity for individuals at the beginning of their supply chain careers, looking to advance within the dynamic consumer goods sector.
Key Responsibilities
- Process and monitor purchase orders for raw materials, components, and finished goods to align with production schedules and inventory goals.
- Collaborate with procurement teams and external vendors to confirm order acknowledgments, delivery timelines, and quantities.
- Track outstanding purchase orders and promptly escalate any delays, discrepancies, or potential supply chain risks to the planning department.
- Assist in maintaining optimal inventory levels by identifying and flagging potential stock shortages or excesses.
- Develop and manage internal and external production schedules, actively tracking progress and making necessary adjustments.
- Facilitate the tracking of essential documents and communications between vendors as required.
- Communicate project status, updates, and key decisions effectively to stakeholders across all organizational levels.
- Support the creation and upkeep of Bills of Materials (BOMs) in NetSuite for various SKUs, including new product launches, reformulations, and promotional configurations.
- Execute the setup of new items in NetSuite by collecting necessary information from R&D, packaging, finance, and operations to ensure data accuracy.
- Participate in regular BOM audits to detect and report any discrepancies that might affect costing, planning, or production.
- Help maintain data integrity for item master and BOM records according to established team guidelines.
- Liaise with manufacturing, quality assurance, and logistics departments to ensure production readiness and timely delivery of products.
- Contribute to the preparation of supply availability data for Sales & Operations Planning (S&OP) meetings and planning reviews.
- Act as a primary contact for vendor inquiries and assist in resolving routine supply chain issues.
Qualifications
- Possess 2-3 years of professional experience in supply chain, production planning, or operations, ideally within the beauty, personal care, or consumer packaged goods industries.
- Demonstrate some prior experience with NetSuite or a strong willingness to become proficient in BOM management and item master setup.
- Have a foundational understanding of supply chain principles, including purchase order management, lead times, and inventory tracking.
- Experience in supporting vendor relationships and assisting with supplier coordination, such as order follow-ups, delivery tracking, and issue resolution.
- Proficient in using Excel or Google Sheets and comfortable navigating Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) systems.
- Exhibit strong attention to detail and excellent organizational capabilities, with the ability to manage multiple tasks and meet deadlines.
- Communicate clearly and professionally, functioning effectively within a team setting.
Preferred Qualifications
- Previous experience in the hair care, cosmetics, or personal care sector is advantageous.
- Familiarity with managing contract manufacturing or third-party suppliers.
- Exposure to S&OP processes or demand/supply planning methodologies.
Additional Information
This role is based in New York, NY, and operates on a hybrid model, requiring 3 days onsite and 2 days remote. The position reports to the Director of Operations.
