About Aliaxis

Aliaxis is a global leader in providing high-quality piping and fitting solutions for building, infrastructure, industrial, and agricultural applications. With over 16,000 employees across more than 40 countries and 80 manufacturing sites, we are dedicated to addressing the world's water challenges and promoting the transition to clean energy. As a key part of Aliaxis, our New Zealand operations supply the local and Pacific markets with premium plastic pipes, fittings, and building materials under well-known brands like Marley, RX Plastics, and Dynex. We are committed to reducing our carbon footprint, delivering sustainable solutions, and fostering a positive community impact. We encourage innovation, environmental care, and accountability.

About The Role

RX Plastics Ltd is seeking an experienced and proactive Production Planner to join our team in Maronan, Canterbury, New Zealand. This is a full-time, onsite position due to the retirement of a long-term employee, offering comprehensive onboarding, training, and support. The role is primarily based in Ashburton, with a potential option for Christchurch. You will be instrumental in optimizing production planning across multiple manufacturing sites and lines to enhance supply performance, customer satisfaction, and operational efficiency. While this role does not involve direct reports, it requires strong collaboration with manufacturing, procurement, logistics, sales, and customer service teams to achieve effective cross-site planning.

What Your Typical Day May Include

  • Overseeing and optimizing production planning and scheduling across various manufacturing sites and production lines.
  • Developing supply plans that align with customer demand, inventory objectives, and operational capacities.
  • Enhancing production efficiency by effective scheduling, minimizing downtime, and reducing waste.
  • Leading site supply review meetings and actively participating in the Sales and Operations Planning (S&OP) process.
  • Proactively identifying and managing supply and demand risks through strategic planning and problem-solving.
  • Contributing to continuous improvement efforts within planning processes and systems.
  • Maintaining essential ERP system data, including Bills of Materials (BOMs), routings, and planning parameters.
  • Generating reports and providing planning insights to aid operational decision-making.
  • Managing and facilitating inter-site stock transfers as needed.

About You

We are looking for a candidate with substantial experience in supply or production planning/scheduling within the manufacturing sector, particularly in plastics, FMCG, or high-speed manufacturing environments with complex processes. Proficiency in Excel and ERP systems is essential. While APIC or Oliver Wright certification is advantageous, it is not a strict requirement. You should possess exceptional communication and interpersonal skills, with a proven ability to build relationships, influence stakeholders, and negotiate effectively. A collaborative, positive, and problem-solving approach is key. Strong time management, coordination abilities, a results-oriented mindset focused on meeting daily KPIs, and a keen analytical eye with high attention to detail are expected. A can-do attitude, flexibility, and adaptability are crucial for contributing to our company's growth.

Why Join Us?

We offer a supportive team environment with onsite parking and provision of PPE. You'll work for a company that is mindful of its operations and environmental impact. Benefits include industry-leading paid parental leave (26 weeks for primary carers, 4 weeks for secondary carers), an annual performance-based bonus for eligible employees, and access to an Employee Assistance Program for you and your immediate family. We also have Employee Recognition Programs, Service Awards, and opportunities for career development both locally and internationally. You can also join our mentoring programs and the DEI council, reflecting our commitment to diversity, equity, and inclusion. We prioritize a safe work environment with a strong 'Go for Zero' safety focus.
