About the Business

Tata Electronics Private Limited (TEPL) is a new greenfield initiative from the Tata Group, focused on precision manufacturing. The company is developing India’s first AI-enabled, advanced semiconductor foundry, designed to make chips used in power management ICs, display drivers, microcontrollers (MCUs), and high-performance computing logic. These products will support fast-growing sectors including automotive, computing, data storage, wireless communications, and artificial intelligence.

Tata Electronics is a wholly owned subsidiary of Tata Sons Pvt. Ltd. and is part of the Tata Group, which operates in more than 100 countries across six continents with a mission to improve the quality of life of communities through long-term stakeholder value creation built on trust and leadership.

Key Responsibilities

  • Build and maintain production schedules so output stays aligned with delivery commitments.
  • Lead day-to-day manufacturing operations to improve efficiency and product quality.
  • Ensure adherence to IPC and ISO requirements while working to reduce defects.
  • Guide, train, and supervise operators and technicians, including manpower planning and deployment.
  • Promote workplace safety, follow EHS standards, and keep the plant prepared for audits.
  • Keep production costs, scrap levels, and other operating expenses under control while driving savings.
  • Monitor core performance indicators such as OEE, FPY, and output, and share updates with senior management.

Essential Attributes

  • Proven capability to lead teams and manage people effectively.
  • Strong analytical thinking with sound problem-solving and decision-making skills.
  • Comfortable performing in a high-pressure environment and meeting strict timelines.
  • Clear communication and strong interpersonal abilities.

Qualifications

  • A bachelor’s degree in engineering, preferably Mechanical, Electrical, or a closely related discipline, or an equivalent qualification.
  • Working knowledge of manufacturing workflows, safety practices, and quality assurance methods.

Desired Experience

  • 15 to 20 years of experience in production management, ideally within ISP or a comparable manufacturing setting.
  • Experience managing large teams and handling complex operational responsibilities.
