Role overview
The Production Line Supervisor will oversee and guide the production team to keep output on track, quality consistent, and safety standards fully observed. The position calls for a hands-on leader who can improve day-to-day efficiency, support process enhancements, and help maintain a positive, well-organized workplace.
Key responsibilities
- Oversee the day-to-day production floor to ensure schedules, output targets, and quality benchmarks are consistently achieved.
- Lead, train, and assess production employees so they have the knowledge, tools, and support needed to work effectively and safely.
- Apply safety rules and procedures rigorously to maintain a secure environment for all staff.
- Coordinate production flow and work closely with teams such as maintenance, quality control, and inventory to keep operations running smoothly.
- Identify and fix production-related issues quickly to reduce downtime and keep targets on course.
- Make sure all company policies are followed, including those related to safety, quality, and environmental compliance.
- Review production data and performance indicators to spot improvement opportunities and take corrective action where needed.
- Carry out regular checks on equipment and facilities to support proper upkeep and cleanliness.
- Compile and update production reports on a daily, weekly, and monthly basis, and share performance results with management.
- Support process upgrades, cost-saving efforts, and waste-reduction initiatives.
- Keep the team engaged and motivated while encouraging collaboration, accountability, and continuous improvement.
Education and experience
A high school diploma or an equivalent qualification is required. A diploma, degree, or technical certification in manufacturing, engineering, or a related area will be an advantage. Applicants should have demonstrated experience in a Production Supervisor role or a similar leadership position within a manufacturing or production setting.
Skills and competencies
The role requires strong communication, leadership, and people-management abilities, along with solid problem-solving, organization, and decision-making skills. A good understanding of production operations, machinery, and quality control is important, as is familiarity with safety standards and regulatory expectations. The candidate should also be comfortable working in a fast-moving environment and adjusting to shifting priorities.
