Job description

Role Overview

Sock Club is hiring an Austin-based Production Design Assistant to support its creative team in delivering high-quality custom socks for the promotional products space. The company is known for precise work, quick turnaround, and distinctive design, and it needs someone who can keep the creative workflow moving without letting quality slip.

This position is heavily production-focused. Most of the work will center on revision-driven tasks requested by Sales and Operations rather than creating concepts from the ground up. You will prepare files for manufacturing, update designs, and ready artwork assets so products move smoothly from idea to delivery. This role suits someone who enjoys accuracy, can work well under pressure, and gets satisfaction from completing a high volume of detailed tasks efficiently. It is likely not the right fit if you are mainly seeking open-ended creative projects or portfolio-building work.

Responsibilities

  • Support production designers with revisions, logo placement, and template-based asset creation.
  • Build production-ready artwork and make sure files follow brand standards.
  • Check designs carefully for correctness, consistency, and client-specific needs before release to production.
  • Keep digital asset libraries organized and add fresh icons, patterns, and artwork where needed.
  • Manage incoming requests from Design, Sales, and Operations by prioritizing urgent work, balancing competing deadlines, and communicating timelines clearly.
  • Think through design challenges and adjust quickly when priorities change.
  • Work closely with Sales, Operations, and Marketing to confirm requirements and keep communication clear and responsive.
  • Step in to help with overflow, provide coverage when teammates are out, and contribute ideas to improve internal processes.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in a related discipline.
  • 1 to 2 years of experience in a similar role, ideally in a fast-moving environment.
  • Strong working knowledge of Adobe Photoshop and Illustrator.
  • Excellent attention to detail and a strong commitment to quality.
  • Good organization and time management skills for handling a large volume of requests with different priorities.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills, especially for expectation-setting.
  • Print production experience is a plus.
  • Positive, flexible attitude and comfort with repetitive, precise work.

Benefits

  • Annual salary of $45,000.
  • Unlimited PTO policy.
  • Health, dental, and vision insurance.
  • 401(k) matching.
  • Casual and motivating work environment.
  • Hybrid work arrangement with in-office days Tuesday through Thursday in Austin; this is not a fully remote role.

Additional Information

The role is based in Austin, Texas and is not fully remote. It is designed for someone who is comfortable with process-driven, detail-heavy production work and does not need a high level of creative autonomy to stay engaged. Candidates who are uncertain about meeting every qualification are encouraged to consider applying.

About the Hiring Note

This position emphasizes moving work through efficiently, maintaining quality under pressure, and collaborating across teams to keep production timelines on track.
