About the company

The employer is a late-stage AI business that has reached unicorn status after a $250M funding round led by a major technology-focused venture firm. The organization is about 500 people strong and is already using AI agents at scale in two critical sectors: housing and healthcare. Its systems handle millions of live conversations and transactions, and the company is now building out a set of new product lines.

Role overview

This is a zero-to-one role on the New Verticals team. The person in this seat will function much like a mini general manager, taking full ownership of a product vertical, including its financial performance, and shaping an early concept into a functioning, revenue-producing business.

What you will do

  • Take end-to-end ownership of a product vertical, covering customer acquisition, sales presentations, implementation, and process design.
  • Work directly with customers to sell, support, and implement the product in order to create early momentum.
  • Define and execute go-to-market plans, including market analysis, segmentation, positioning, pricing, and launch coordination.
  • Create the internal operating processes that allow Product, Engineering, GTM, and Customer Success teams to gradually assume ownership as the product scales.
  • Present a technical solution with confidence and collaborate with engineering and product teams on specifications without being the hands-on builder.
  • Align stakeholders across functions, influence without formal authority, and stay close to the details while moving work forward.

Candidate profile

The team is looking for someone with 4 to 7 years of experience in product strategy, management consulting, or startup operations. Strong candidates will have launched a product or entered a new market from scratch, ideally in payments, accounting, or insurance. Experience in an early-stage startup environment where multiple responsibilities were handled at once, or a background at a top-tier consulting firm, is preferred. Exposure to P&L ownership or to M&A and diligence work across multiple streams is also valuable. A strong sense of ownership is essential, along with B2B SaaS or enterprise experience.

Preferred background

A bachelor’s degree from a leading university is a plus. An MBA or top consulting pedigree is also beneficial, though it is not mandatory if the candidate has a strong startup track record. Depth in payments, accounting, or insurance is advantageous, as is experience in B2B SaaS or PropTech with clear financial impact.

Compensation and benefits

The base pay range is $165K to $250K, depending on level, with Manager and Senior Manager tracks available. The role also includes competitive equity at a unicorn-valued company.

Visa support is available for transfers, and STEM OPT candidates with enough remaining time can be considered. New sponsorship is not offered.

Location and work model

This is a full-time, on-site position in New York City. The role requires presence in the office 4 to 5 days per week, with occasional travel as needed.
