Job description

Job Summary

We are looking for a seasoned Product Manager/Product Owner with strong specialization in Cards and Payments within the Banking and Financial Services space. In this role, you will shape the product direction, maintain the roadmap, and lead the delivery of modern card and payment capabilities that improve customer experience and support business expansion.

The role calls for solid knowledge of Credit Cards, Debit Cards, Payment Processing, Digital Payments, Card Lifecycle Management, and Banking Operations. You will work closely with business teams, engineering, risk and compliance functions, and outside payment partners to move products from concept to launch and ongoing support.

Key Responsibilities

Product strategy and roadmap

  • Set the direction, vision, and roadmap for Cards and Payments offerings, and see them through execution.
  • Lead product innovation and digital modernization efforts across the banking environment.
  • Collect input from customers, internal teams, and market analysis to uncover new product opportunities.
  • Rank features and improvements according to business impact and customer demand.
  • Oversee the full product journey, from early idea generation to implementation and production support.

Stakeholder management

  • Partner with Business, Technology, Operations, Risk, Compliance, and Vendor teams on a day-to-day basis.
  • Convert business needs into user stories and detailed functional requirements.
  • Take ownership of the product backlog and keep priorities aligned.
  • Run Agile ceremonies and help ensure smooth sprint delivery.

Risk and compliance

  • Make sure products follow banking regulations and relevant industry standards.
  • Collaborate with Risk and Compliance teams on governance and control design.
  • Assist with audit, regulatory, and security-related expectations.

Required Skills & Experience

  • At least 5 years of experience in Product Management or Product Ownership.
  • Strong background in Banking and Financial Services.
  • Practical experience with Cards and Payments products.
  • Comfortable working with Agile/Scrum delivery methods.
  • Good understanding of product lifecycle management.
  • Experience working with cross-functional groups and senior stakeholders.

Domain Expertise

Cards: Credit Cards, Debit Cards, Card Issuing, Card Servicing, Card Processing, Rewards and Loyalty Programs, Card Activation, Chargebacks and Disputes, and Fraud Prevention.

Payments: Payment Processing, Payment Gateways, Merchant Payments, Digital Payments, ACH, Wire Transfers, Real-Time Payments (RTP), Mobile Wallets, Contactless Payments, and Tokenization.

Technical knowledge: API Management, REST APIs, Open API Specifications, Postman, Payment Integrations, SQL, Jira, Confluence, and Azure DevOps.

Preferred Experience

  • Prior exposure to Visa, Mastercard, American Express, or Discover ecosystems.
  • Experience working with processors such as Fiserv, TSYS, FIS, First Data, or Global Payments.
  • Understanding of PCI-DSS requirements.
  • Background with fraud detection and risk management platforms.
  • Familiarity with Open Banking and Banking-as-a-Service (BaaS) initiatives.

Education

A bachelor’s degree in Business, Finance, Computer Science, Information Systems, or a related discipline is required.
